I love it when Mike actually checks his stats before opening his mouth, oh wait, he didnt...lol.

That's right because Sucky teams have 12-6 records.

Cubs/Sox chatter on here is amusing. Im just happy that both teams look like they are pretty good. Have they ever both made the playoffs at the same time?

That's like opening the seventh seal. Probably not a good idea.

The Sox beat the Cubs in the 1906 World Series. So to answer the question, yes but I doubt any of us were around to experience that.

Another great morning show segment.

There are plenty of reasons to bash the MNMS but I don't think this was one of them. I heard him lead into the segment by stating that listeners might be surprised to hear that the Sox are not the best power hitting team in Chicago. He then read the statistics which showed the Cubs lead most of the hitting related categories. Yes he mispoke initially regarding walks, but then he corrected himself...no big deal.

Although, the most recent matchup was most definately in the Cubs favor. I believe they took 5 of 6 last year including a sweep at the Cell.

I dunno. But he probably knew where all the roadblocks were to try and catch people riding horses while drunk.

What does that have to do with FF's question about them being in the playoffs at the same time?

Absolutely nothing Frank. Nothing.

The Pirates are 0-6 vs the Cubs but....

they are 7-5 when they don't play the Cubs including taking 2 out of 3 vs the Braves.

Absolutely! Me and the Missus were in Mexico w/out our rugrats. I saw the Alou blowup in Spanish on Fox Sports Net Miami, I think.

Fixed. And if you feel the date you had there originally was sweeter than you have some issues.

The day actually sucked, Frank. I had jitters all day, kept getting up at the office, pacing aimlessly, looking up Freddie's numbers vs Astro hitters. There wasn't a whole lot recent enough to be meaningful. It got better after a few cold ones before the first pitch. I didn't relax until they replayed Ooribay's toss to Paulie like a half dozen times and there was no doubth that the ump signaled an out.

As a Sox fan, why does that date bear any significance to you? If you recall, we had a slight glimmer of hope of making the playoffs but we got swept by Minnesota in the last two weeks of the year, thus mathematically eliminating us. As far as I'm concerned, Sox fans shouldn't be gloating about 2003 whatsoever.
