That is a high quality kid. And talented as hell. He'll be this year's Corey. But faster

:D

Who would've guessed he'd go before Thomas. He worked his ass off at Louisville and turned himself into a really good player. I'm happy for him too.

Eierman finally goes. Plus in game power. May have to move to 3B but the bat will play there.

That's actually the thing of it for me, most of these kids really work their asses off. And it's easy to root for them.

Day 2 of the draft. This is the nightmare day for area scouts. The day that keeps them up at night. You feel good that no one is going to take a guy on day 1 that you didn't have in but day 2 is another story. A team can have a guy higher on their board because they had a better look than you or god forbid a guy you never even saw. After round 10 it can be explained but 3-10 is the danger zone. Good luck, Fellas.

Here are some guys still available:

RHP Blaine Knight
LHP Konner Pilkington
RHP Tristan Beck
RHP Trey Riley

I don't want OF Tristan Pompay or SS Nader De Sedas. I'm assuming Cole Wilcox, Kumar Rocker and Adam Kloffenstein are unsignable at this point.

I think the average fan sees some slobs play baseball and think these guys are just relying on ability. I could make the argument that an MLB player has had to work harder than any other professional to attain his status.

One thing I've learned is to ALWAYS talk to the strength coach. Those guys have no skin in the game so they have no reason to lie and they're more than happy to tell you if a guy is a beast in the weight room or if he's a dog. When you get to this level work ethic is a separator. They're all talented players but the guys who work the hardest are the ones most likely to separate themselves from the pack.

So Kyler Murray is going to play football this fall. Come on man let it go. You’re a baseball player. I understand you’re ultra competitive and you feel you have something to prove but nothing good can come from this. Hang em up and concentrate on getting to the big leagues.

Sox get LHP Konner Pilkington. Good pick. Pitchability lefty. Went thru the SEC gauntlet. Could be a back of the rotation guy.

Ha. Reds take stat darling Brenden Spillane. Leave it out over the plate and he'll hit it a mile but he can't get to an inside fastball. Pass

Wow! SD takes Illinois St SS Owen Miller in the 3rd. I was wondering if he was going in the top 10. Can’t stay at SS and questions if he’ll ever get to his power.

The Braves get another good arm in Stanford’s Tristan Beck. That system is absolutely loaded.

Rockies take Ohio St RHP Ryan Feltner. Big arm with a straight fastball and below avg command. Not sure how that’s gonna play in Coors.

The D’Backs take Wright St RHP Ryan Weiss. Awesome! He went to South Elgin HS. Kid has had a lot of tragedy in his life. Too much for a kid that young. So happy for him.

Aww man they got Stiever from Indiana. Good stuff but he gets hit around a lot. He needs to not be so wild in the strike zone. Big project here.

Reds take Ryan Campbell from UIC. Senior sign. One pitch pitcher. Has a good sinker but nothing else to go with it. Not a great AA. Hope he can develop a 2nd pitch and be a matchup bullpen guy.
