Why ever in the hell playing football would be an option except for negotiating leverage is beyond me. Hopefully Thomas sees the light as well.

Winning the Heisman earns you a lot of money.

There goes Trey Riley to of course the god damn Braves. Riley has an electric arm with plus athleticism. Up to 97 with life. Plus slider. The changeup and command need work but it won't be tough for him to clean that up. Love this dude.

So does a well managed serious signing bonus pocketed this summer. And fast track status to guaranteed contracts without the risk of football.

Maybe the Oklahoma boosters will offer a larger signing bonus?

KC gets another big college arm in Kentucky RHP Zach Haake. He went to John Logan last year. Up to 98 with a wipeout slider. Command comes and goes. Could be a shut down closer with improved command.

105 of the first 164 picks (first 5 rounds) of the 2018 draft were DI college players.

Damn. I figured the majority would come from D1 but not that many.

The A's get Big Chuck Cerny out of UIC. I LOVE HIM!!! He started the season in the bullpen and was unhittable. Heavy bowling ball FB at 90-93 wipeout slider at 82-86 feel for a change and pounds the shit out of the strike zone. They moved him to the rotation about halfway thru the season and was really good the first 4-5 times out then he started to wear down and was bad in a high profile game. Still think he profiles as a middle of the rotation starter.

The Mariners get Illinois closer RHP Joey Gerber. Bad del and AA. 92-96 with some sink. Inconsistent slider. Can't bounce back. Pass

Yesterday was the nightmare day for area scouts and today is their reward. Rounds 11-40 are for the area scouts. This is their chance to get their "gut feel" guys. The projectable pitcher with the great body and clean arm action, the super athletic position player who just needs a couple adjustments and lots of reps, the big 3B that can be converted to a catcher.

This is the day they put 40,000 miles on their cars a year, spend days, weeks, months away from their families, sit endlessly thru cold, rain, snow, extreme heat just so they can draft the guy they just know will be a big leaguer. Good luck, fellas.

SS Korry Howell goes to the Brewers in the 12th. Kirkwood JC via Homewood Flossmoor HS. Had a down spring but has big time tools. This dude can really take off in pro ball.

Maine East HS LHP Antoine Kelly to the Padres in the 13th. Long, lean, athletic and incredibly projectable. Up to 95. Secondaries and command need a lot of work.

The Sox took Illinois RHP Luke Shilling in the 15th. Oh boy. Big dude with big time and I mean big time stuff. He has the stuff to pitch out of the big league bullpen right now. 94-98 with life and a 88-90 hammer slider. Strike throwing is a problem. Big Luke hurt himself before the season started and wasn't welcomed back to the team. That's all I'm gonna say about that.

Big Luke is listed at 6'5 250 and I am going to start right now the Bobby Jenks comps.

So what did they get time wise to make selections in rounds 11-40? 2 Minutes?

I think they get 2 minutes but they're going a lot faster than that. I can't keep up!

That comp is a lot closer than you think.

No one is going to draft Heimlich because of a crime he committed close to a decade ago with no issues of recidivism?

I doubt that standard holds across the league.

At this point, I would draft him. No big money deal to be given. I think a team could get passed it rather easily if they draft him in a late round.

Basically never hear about baseball prospects again, unless they make the league. So, any team would have at least a couple years to figure out how to deal with that.

He molested a child. As a scout there would be absolutely no way i’d put my name on that scumbag.

Kyler Murray and the A's have a deal that guarantees him close to $5M and allows him to play football at Oklahoma for 1 year.

I don’t think even Oklahoma pays that much.

Baseball teams do lots of charity work. They have kids days. What are they going to do send a convicted child molester into a school or childrens hospital? Get the fuck outta here.

He WAS a child when it happened.

Should he be unemployable for life now?

Honestly. Should we just kill him or force him to live in a lepers colony?

He was 15 which is plenty old enough to know it is essentially one of the top 3 worst things a human can do. And he did this over a long period of time. Let him drive an Uber or something.
