I was supposed to get my heart shocked yesterday to knock it back in rhythm. They checked me before the procedure and decided I didn't need it.

Room and board traded for golf lessons. Sounds like a win-win for both parties.

Do you need travel money donations to go accept the award?

Thanks. I plan on stealing a suit from JORR. Not because there's an awards ceremony. I just want a new suit.

Finally closed on the house I've been under contract on since December. Our stuff should get here this weekend.

I was headed north on the Channel Trail and stopped at the light at Main Street. This guy rolls up behind me on his expensive carbon fiber bike with disc wheels. I mean, he looks like he was plucked from a peloton in the Pyrenees. He gave me a look of disdain. But I'm not your average fat weekend rider on a heavy mountain bike. I've got 1700 miles in already this year and right now I'm fast as hell. The guy goes on the arrow after the cars turning left had cleared. I waited a few seconds for the green. I was right on top of him pretty quickly. I was very comfortable behind him, not making much effort to stay there. I noticed he was working a little. I could see he was getting twitchy with me behind him. But hey pal, nobody told you to cut the light in front of a faster rider. This is what you get. All of a sudden he shifts his gears all the way down. Okay, he wants me out from behind him. I'll oblige. But as soon as I moved out to pass, this motherfucker kicks it back into overdrive. By this time I knew he couldn't ride with me. Nobody was coming toward us so I stayed right next to him for awhile just to rub my superiority in his smug face. Then I casually looked over and blew past him. It was like Secretariat shaking off Sham in the Belmont. I hope his FitBit was waterproof so he didn't ruin it with his salty tears. That sorry bastard should go home and list that fancy bicycle on Craigslist.

In New Orleans for a work conference this weekend. Catfish at Bobby Hebert's Thursday, some great crawfish etoufee at Deanie's last nite, and an alligator Po boy today for lunch. Getting to try all sorts of things without the wife who doesn't like seafood.

Bourbon Street Tonite which probably doesn't bode well for my 6am flight tomorrow.

It's different and I'm not sure I'd get it again, but it's good for now and I'm glad I'm trying some new and authentic items.
