It’s a major league slider, and he’s getting better with it, but it’s barely above average.

Overall, he’s a better pitcher than he was last year, but not by much. He does not have an effective 3rd pitch, which is an absolute necessity. And his #2 pitch isn’t all that exciting.

Let’s hope for continued improvement on his secondary pitches.

Sox 13-14 since the final game of the Cubs series. I thought then it was a big win and a morale booster. The Cleveland series was a total downer but other than those 3 games, it's been some decent baseball over that 27 game stretch.
