I have to imagine Rizzo isn't going to just give him up for nothing and I don't know enough about the Indians' prospects. Perhaps the Indians would look at him as a long-term solution to build around and be willing to take the risk by giving up major league talent.

If a team traded for Harper they'd almost have to be guaranteed to sign him to an extension. Or else why would you give up anything of value for 3 months?

If i'm the Nats, I take whatever PTBNL and bag-o-balls the Indians are offering. Once Bryce Harper experiences the delights of the Flats and the discomforting death-grip of what Deadspin referred to as "the general air of depression that lingers over Northeast Ohio at all times" Harper will surely sign a long-term extension in the off-season--back with the Nationals.

Its amazing how true Deadspin's statement is.
