I cant wait to see the overnight ratings for ESPN's "NBA Mock Draft Special" going on right now.

I'll set the line at 850k viewers.

NBA Finals avg 18 million viewers. NFL Draft avg 5 million viewers. Yeah it really would behoove the score to talk more NFL during the offseason than it would NBA during its inseason and playoffs.

Why? I'd be "lying" if i only used one day. There are 3 days and it was shown over 6 different networks. The rationale for discussing 6 months of offseason NFL is centered on it drawing 11million viewers on the first day of its draft. Ok.

Interest in the Draft is so great yet it loses 80% of its audience after the first day.

People can't get enough of the NFL yet many of its games in December were played in half empty stadiums. OK


Accept the fact that there are simply times when the NBA should take precedence as the MAJOR sport that it happens to be.

I have nothing against the NFL but making it the focal point during its offseason is simply stupid.

Changing the goalposts. Your point was talking out of town NBA should be the subject of a Chicago show. That is wrong, evidenced by the fact that the ONE show in town that talked national NBA does not exist anymore.

Nobody has denied that the NBA has a place, like when the finals are going on. 4 days before the NFL draft, is NOT the time to talk regular season out of town NBA.

I never said the NFL draft shouldn't be discussed. I stated that it isn't sustainable enough to carry offseason NFL talk for 6 months (As evidenced by its 80% decline in viewership after the first day/round) The NFL draft is the only thing worth discussing in the offseason besides possibly the first day of Free agency.

If the NBA is in season it should be discussed more than the NFL if the NFL is in its offseason.
