It seems like 3 out of 5 times I turn on AM1000 I hear his voice. There are several young guys at that station, who aren't as bad as the part timers at WSCR who get a fair amount of airtime, who have to be annoyed that he gets so much work as a fill-in host.

He's better than Chuck Swirsky. For whatever reason they had him in there over the weekend and it was pretty bad radio. I
actually put some music on which I only do when Julie and Maggie are on. As soon as I heard her trying to shout down callers
because she has her doctorate in constitutional law and taking the NFL to task for their ruling on the anthem I was able to throw
on some music before I ran my Jeep into a tree.

A funny Huebner story, one time, back in the day, Huebner and Murph were doing their Wscr show. Huebner was talking about
his love of high school girls basketball, and discussing a game he just attended the night before. They then took a call...

Caller "So Fred, you attend random girls high school basketball games, and you don't have a daughter or niece playing?"

Fred "That's true, I just love attending girls basketball, it's basketball at it's finest, I'm just a true fan"

Caller "Fan? You're not a fan, you're a stalker, I'd be careful in discussing you're love of high school girls hoops, it sounds rather creepy...."

Murph "all right, all right, let's take a break,...we'll be back in a minute....you're listening to WSCR, the score..."

Something so trivial, yet I always get a chuckle every time I think of that caller, and how he totally caught those two off guard.

I think Fred is the best host other than murph on ESPN 1000. I always keep it on when I hear him. 1000s young guys aren't as arogant as the scores but add little or nothing like the scores.

I'm kind of the opposite. I'd like to see (hear) the young guys on AM1000 get airtime to grow and improve instead of hearing the same thoughts from a retread like Fred that I've heard for the last 20 years. Abdalla and Blech have a decent show on Sunday mornings for an hour and then Fred comes in to tie a boat anchor around it for the next three hours. I guess they want to mix the perspectives of millenials with a older guy, which is fine, but it would be nice if the older guy were interesting.

Fred would be a welcome addition back at the score. He could replace slugs McKnight, Parkins, Holmes, or Les when he's had enough.

Murph was not on the show today so it was Fred and Jesse Rogers.

Fred is probably the most professional guy in sports radio.

He knows how to run a show and today's show you could hear that. It was top quality.

I use to not really have an opinion of him but now you can see how professional he is. old school.
