America, surely you dont really think there is a legitimate way the Bulls come out of tonight with Donic and Young?

I mean if that happens I would be thrilled, but just dont see it.

It makes sense for the Griz.

There are only three guys who look likely to step rirgt in and contribute, but the Griz pick 4th. So that's a lot of risk to just hope they get lucky.

But if they get Dunn and Portis thats a couple of guys who can contribute more than Parsons. Way more than Parsons really. And 1.22 isn't great but it's not worthless. They add someone else of at least some value there. And even a protected 2019 carries good potential.

But the real winner for them is dumping Parsons. That gives them a fresh start to add a max player or retain Evans + add another like him. They aren't getting LeBron or George, but it's not a shitty free agent class.

It's a big trade down 1.7 to 1.22, but they get depth, deferred draft capital and essentially trade for massive free agent flexibility. If Doncic, Bagley and Ayton aren't there would you rather have all that or "the best of the rest"?

The risk for the Bulls is immense. No free agents for two years and if Doncic isn't there they are probably giving up all that to draft a guy at 4 that they were already going to take at 7.

No FAs is a good situation. They can't attract anyone good and overpay for any bum willing to come here.

I'll be absolutely shocked if they do anything other than draft Porter/Carter at 1.7 then go on to sign some middle-of-the-road free agents. This is all me speculating what they should do, not what they will do. I agree, the Bulls probably shouldn't be FA players anyway this offseason and next offseason. This front office though, we all kinda know better. They aren't too difficult to read.

HOWEVER--the Bears did just have an incredible offseason that got saved at the last second by (I am fairly certain this is what happened) the head coach demanding they make a trade which gave them a great pair of second round draft picks. So who knows, maybe the Bulls will find some of that magic.

Most mocks have the Bulls getting Porter.

But Sam Smith says:

https://www.nba.com/bulls/features/sam- ... mock-draft

Wendall Carter, and Porter slips to 12.

I see Sam has my guy Dzanan Musa with the 22 :alien:

There are three possible Porter scenarios:

Porter's back isn't too bad of shape and he goes top 4
Porter's back IS too bad of shape and he falls to 12-15
Porter's back IS too bad of shape and Bulls take him at 7

Hey LTG...any thoughts on Mitchell Robinson? He seems to be a true boom or bust proposition but he really hasn't played since high school.

KC Johnson doesn’t spin anything. Tweeted out recently that the Bulls are trying to trade up for Bagley or Bamba. Man oh man. Bagley is the 2nd best player after Ayton. That would be awesome.

I think Bagley is the best player. Just doesn't have the BODY of Ayton.

I think Doncic is clearly the best player but Bagley would be really nice. Have no use for Bismack Bamba really.

Even though he has high bust potential, you can't pass on a guy like Porter. You just can't. Swing for the fences.

Woj tweeted that the bulls were among teams actively looking at moving up. So it def seems they are working hard to try and get to top 5

his attitude worries me just as much as his back. I'm with FF on this, he screams Kevin Love-type "good player on bad teams" as his best case scenario. So obviously not a total waste of a pick, but not what the Bulls need.

The word that they are looking to move up is really encouraging. I dont know if anyone is sure who exactly they are pursuing, but they need one of Ayton/Bagley/Doncic for this offseason to be successful.

@wojespn: Here's how the Top 6 of tonight's NBA Draft is taking shape: 1. Suns: Deandre Ayton. 2. Kings: Marvin Bagley Jr.; 3. Hawks: Luka Doncic; 4. Jaren Jackson, Jr.; 5. Mavericks: Mo Bamba; 6. Magic: Trae Young.

That leaves MPJ there at #7

At Paxson will be scared off my his militant attitude and draft a "meh' player like WCJ or Bridges.

Yessir. Bulls, Cavs, Clippers, and Mavs all looking to move up. Mavs must want Doncic?

@KCJHoop: This is why Bulls trying to trade up. And if this plays out, Carter Jr. almost certain to be pick over Porter Jr.

Wendell Carter is Taj Gibson, I don't get the obsession. Nice player, that's it.

remember that phrase...."like kissing your sister" which kind of meant not great but not the worst? That's pretty damn weird but you heard it a fair bit. Anyhoo, that's what Carter would be like. I don't have a sister but figure it would be pretty gross.

We've liked Wendell for a long time. I think he fits into the direction of our team and will fit great alongside Lauri. We had discussions w/ other teams but the price was too high. We are very excited over who we ended up with.

That is very possible for tonight.

You know, for drafting that far down, Carter isn't the worst scenario. He could be a beast with some time. He's just a baby now.

Taking Carter over Porter would be the most Bulls move ever.

Are the chances realistic of anything playing out with Memphis and Da Bool ending up with both the 4 and the 7?

They ultimately put themselves in this position tonight. They tried harder to tank (especially towards the end) than I thought they would. But there’s no doubt they’d have a top 5 pick tonight if they dealt Holiday as well as benching Mirotic sooner when they were actively seeking a deal there.

Give me Carter, but if they take either of the Bridges I'm gonna lose it.

You can't trade Jimmy Butler and only have Wendell Carter to show for it.

Players that will make me happy if they are a Bull:

Doncic
Bagley
Bamba
Sexton

Players that will make me unhappy if they are a Bull:

MPJ
Trae Young
Kevin Knox

Players that I will shrug and say ok, fine if they are a Bull:

Wendell Carter
Mikal Bridges

I find the potential options that could be available at 22 very intriguing also. We better not draft some Euro dude and stash him for 3 years with that pick. There should be a quality player available there.
