At how much per year do you let him walk as a restricted free agent? I feel like some dumb ass team will offer him 20 million or more because many NBA teams are stupid. I say let him walk on anything over 15 million.

16-18.

He’s not signing for less than 20 though. If you think 15 is the number just consider him gone or be mad now.

I think he is a guy that bad teams overpay every summer and is not a difference maker.

Teams are getting better about that and there’s not many with the ability to offer him a lot. Our best hope is Atlanta and the Kings. Atlanta’s new GM is unknown and Sacramento’s FO is a known disaster and they have cap room. I think we’re gonna resign him though, especially if tonight’s moves are any indication. And it will without a doubt be for more than $15 mil unless HawaiiYou is his agent.

hard to say. last year was a recovery year.. hes young enough to not have peaked yet... and he did show the injury doesnt seem to effect his game... there were some games he looked incredible. this isnt a drose situation. he could still be a top 10 player this year... unlikely, but its not out of the question at this point.

FF, if healthy, what should we expect out of LaVine stat wise?

he looked terrible to me on the rare occasion I watched. But there is a salary minimum. gotta spend it on something.

A lot of better players that are free agents. You could sign two valuable players for whatever he makes plus a little bit more to get to the floor.

Isaiah Thomas and Tyreke Evans or something similar:

Starting 5:

Robin Lopez
Lauri Markkanen
Bobby Portis
Tyreke Evans
Kris Dunn

Bench:

Wendell Carter Jr
Cristiano Felicio
Chandler Hutchison
Denzel Valentine
Isaiah Thomas
Cam Payne
Jerian Grant
Zipser
Asik

so what you are saying is that there are irrational actors out there that will pay a premium for a bum like lavine? Its possible I guess.

The Knicks have a history of overpaying for former Bulls.

Dependent on the situation but something like 20-4-4 with good shooting percentages is a reasonable expectation imo.

there has to be some negative effect on the other four players when that guy is hogging the ball and taking crappy shots even if he did make a fair share of them. I just don't see him ever being any good.

There is, and it shows up a bit in the non traditional stats and metrics as IMU referenced. He also doesnt play any defense.

Did anyone hear the Paxson interview today? Bernstein keeps making it sound like they are going to walk away from Lavine.
