Playing baseball isn't the sacred privilege some would make it out to be. It's a job. A job murderers, thieves, rapists, etc. have all played.

That was kind of a joke as to what kind of people Uber lets drive for them.

also, he was 15 when the agreed to the plea deal which means that he was no more than 14 and most likely less than 14 when it happened. No one said you have to forgive but a life sentence?

Alek Thomas signed for $1.2M. Good for him.

Kelenic got $5M. Better for him.

The Royals are exploring the possibility of trying to sign him. So there's that.

If he was a tool-sly CF that happened to diddle little kids now and then, Kenny would have signed him already.

He would of had to play football in college, for Kenny to do that. Kenny would of taken him #1 if that happened.

I saw Seth Beer at Kane County last night. Yikes. Stiff unathletic swing. Showed 50 raw during BP. He's supposed to be a 70-80 raw power guy. Maybe he was working on something but it was a very unimpressive showing. He went 2-4 during the game. First AB he got blown up on an inside fastball (pitcher was 87-91), second AB he grounded a single the other way on a high outside fastball, third AB he hit a hard LD to RF on a hanging slider, fourth AB he hit a humpback liner the other way on another high outside fastball. No idea why they didn't challenge him more with fastballs on the inner half. He was getting beat every time they went in there.

Dodgers 1st round pick RHP JT Ginn announces he’s headed to college. He’s a Mississippi St commit.

This might be a negotiating play but if not it’s freakin huge.

I thought teams have a verbal agreement in place before drafting a guy this high.

They do but sometimes guys change their minds. They all want to play until it’s staring them in the face. We’re not signing one of our guys though he wasn’t a first rounder.

1st rounder SS Matt McLain has informed the Diamondbacks that he will not sign. McLain is committed to UCLA

That makes two 1st rounders who say they will not sign. McClanahan and Raleigh have signed.

If someone offers you $2.7M, you take it. You can go back to college later. That's about the average earnings for a college grad in a LIFETIME.

especially because if you succeed at being a big league pitcher, you are getting another year of prime pay, potentially 20 or 30 million dollars.

All for the marginal chance you increase that 2.7 to 5 million.

It is hard for me to fathom being a first round draft pick in the MLB and passing that up to go play college.

That is quite the risk.

Stewart’s wrist injury is holding up his signing and it doesn’t sound like the two sides are close. If he doesn’t sign he will also attend Mississippi St. Ginn and Stewart getting on campus is an awful nice present for a 1st year coach.

Starkville and Oxford are actually pretty pleasant little towns. Mississippi gets a bad name.
