Every time he tweets something utterly stupid, I'll get annoyed. Then I will listen to a Democrat on CNN comment on it, and I remember why he's not so bad.

Anyway, I finally took his poster in my room down. My wife didn't like it.

This could be helpful. Why do you loathe Donald Trump?

Are you genuinely curious or is this a gotcha? If it's the first, I'll answer.

I'm curious but obviously it would lead to questions of why his supporters like those same things.

Leash,
I think you and I are pretty much on the same page here.

I don't know that his supporters have to like everything he does, do they? Is there a candidate out there who you agree with 100%? Most Donald Trump supporters openly say they wish he would tweet less.

I have proof that I don't like Donald Trump. Go read my posts from 2016. You could "WYC" me with every comment I make about the last election, and I openly admit it. I think he is rather stupid, very shallow, has ADD, has no real principles, and has weird priorities (such as ratings).

My defense of Donald Trump is never really about Donald Trump, even though I don't think he's been bad. I don't think you do either. My defense of him is because I snapped out of my own hysteria to realize how hypocritical we were all being. People in the last election were literally afraid to admit in public that they voted for Trump. That helped lead to the surprise. Then once he was elected, there was talk of changing the electoral college, that Russians rigged the election, the Russia investigation, and non-stop coverage of him AND (more importantly) his supporters that makes them out to be fools. People hate him so much that they don't even realize how disrespectful they are to people who voted for him for legitimate reasons. I don't agree with all those reasons, but that is how our system works. Ousting Trump without good reason and twisting everything he does is bad for Democracy. And it's especially stupid because he would give the media legitimate reasons to criticize if they would stop focusing on stupid shit.

So there... that's why I don't like him but am forced to defend him.

So, I loathe Trump but actually I don't loathe him because other people loathe him too much.

You are by far not the only one but this about sums stuff up around here lately. The man writes a ton trying to explain something that is not cut and dried and this is what he gets. A big sarcastic nothing burger.

You consistently project the words of People on Twitter and liberal media opinions onto the posters of the board who dislike Trump. JORR and yourself paint yourselves as noble defenders of The Election™ and his supporters feelings as if anyone gives a damn. The majority of Trump criticisms in the Trump thread involve his legislative objectives, methods and overall behavior.

Good grief, stop playing the victim ya pussy

I hope you're really good at accounting.

I was referring to Baby McNown's sideswipe at Mike. It's not comparable to any type of "generalizing" you think we do in defense of our system. I see why you got upset though. Your posts lately are virtually indistinguishable from his.

And Leash are you saying that talking about your AWAKENING is a personal insult?

I don't think either of us considers himself "noble". And I can't speak for leash, but I would never vote for Donald Trump. It's just that many people- many smart people- feel that getting Trump out no matter what it takes is justifiable with no thought that doing so will end the system that has served so well for 250 years.

It's hysteria. Just an example, has Trump ramped up the situation on the border? No doubt. But the policy isn't so radically different that Obama never received the slightest criticism yet Trump is Hitler. That's either craziness or blind political bullshit.

Are you hoping the Democrats take over Congress though?

I actually agree with you that the Russia investigation should just end soon and we can move past it. However, if you would never vote for Donald Trump I assume you are not happy that he is President, even if you thought Hillary was worse.

Well, see, I voted for him because I thought he wouldn't give two shits about social issues other than immigration and focus on re-structuring the economy. Plus Hillary is an unrepetant snake and I could not vote for her shady act.

Trump has some helpful ideas and intentions but he is an absolutely dreadful leader. His behavior and leadership has caused this current climate of political inaction and toxicity. The guy has his party in charge of both Congressional houses and through his leadership he's passed one major piece of legislation. The fool can't even roll out an Executive Order without causing chaos. His administration's planning and execution for literally anything is dogshit

Good riddance to him and his idiotic cronies.

It really was binary though. I'm not sure I would have been any happier had she won, but if push came to shove I would have voted for her to prevent him from being president.

As for Democrats taking Congress, I guess I'm indifferent. What I'd really like to see, regardless of which party holds the houses, is for Congress to stop ceding its clearly delineated power to legislate to the executive branch.

And yeah, I don't think it's great for the country to have this Mueller guy running around like Javert in Les Miz with about half the country cheering him on.

You voted for him and seem fine seeing him hounded from office. I would NEVER vote for him, but I think he won a four year term absent any high crimes or misdemeanors, something we've seen ZERO evidence to support. Strange times we live in.

Its all in the reaction to Trump. He does things every other president has done and the media goes into an unhinged frenzy.
