Because apparently Stan Bowman is a big fucking idiot who simultaneously signs washed-up old guys and drafts kids who won't be ready for four years. Did he forget that Patrick Kane is still here and might like to win?

They have to overpay now because the allure of coming to Chicago is gone. Seriously, it's time to trade some core guys and rebuild. None of the guys in their system project to be stars and the only player who is still a star is Kane. Toews is a good #2C on a championship team.

Not that I expected anything much today but what a miserable start to the offseason for the Hawks. Unless Bowman has some Anisimov trade up his sleeve for a top 4 dman, this is going to be a horrendous failure of an offseason giving fans very little to be optimistic about for next season.

If only Stan didn't hand out NMC's liked they were candy
