Which makes little sense as well. By that time Lebron will be a year older. If this plan works Lebron will be 35 about to turn 36 at the earliest before they can play for a championship.

What I am starting to believe is that LeBron doesn't give a shit. If the Lakers put a championship team around him great, if not he doesn't care either. He just wants to live and work in Los Angeles. He's kind of throwing in the towel on his competitive career and wants to enjoy the social aspect of being an NBA star.

I dont know how he's going to feel about being on a team that flat-out sucks though. What's he going to do if its January and the Lakers are below .500 and clinging to playoff hopes? Has he ever been booed by his own fans before? I mean obviously Cleveland let him have it but he was wearing a different uniform. Night-in-night-out at the Staples Center getting shit on by fans who very much expected LeBron to carry them to a title and are very upset that he may not even get them to the playoffs (I dont care what FF says, this is a distinct possibility)...I think he's way to fragile to take that.

It needs to be Kawhi. Cousins is not a good fit with Lebron IMO.

Cannot wait to see the show. Lavar, Lance, and Lebron lol

Cousind injury is a huge wildcard but if healthy he’s so good he fits any systems. He would be awesome with LeBron

I dont understand sports stars. I dont understand what he is chasing after you win one for your hometown. I wouldnt have left in the first place.

The guy sees the value in using his foundation to build a school for at risk youth in Cleveland but somehow prioritizes whatever it is about his career, over staying in a city that has essentially zero identity without him.

yeah he is good and all, but he is not enough with Lebron to get past the Warriors and win it all. And I think Lebron would tire of Cousins and his attitude quite quickly.

That's what drives a lot of the love affair with LeBron: this idea that he's just a big goofy kid having fun with his friends and not a sociopathic assassin. (He could, in theory, be my friend! or at least cordial with me?) They need to believe that not only is LeBron better than Jordan, he's better without even trying. When the Lakers are a second-round out, watch the usual cocksuckers say that LeBron's brave decision to put his family's comfort and business concerns ahead of something as trifling as a children's game is what truly proves he's better than Jordan.

Cousins is so much more ridiculously talented than anyone the Cavs had last year I can’t see that being an issue.

Agreed, when he was healthy.

Achilles injuries are nasty tho. The injury is probably especially worrisome when the tendon is attached to a 6' 11" 280lb human who's never been shy about leading a fast break.

Besides, how many "personalities" can one team have, really?

Lebron's Cavs were 15-15 against the West.

There's no way SA lays down for the Lakers.

At this moment, the ceiling seems high for a Laker clusterfuck.

Word out of Cleveland is that earlier this morning Tyronn Lue was promoted to Head Coach.

People were calling Burger's career over after an Achilles but an even bigger guy in a sport more demanding on that part of the body will be just fine

They also are setting a really low bar so he can OVERCOME and show how great he is. He's playing on a team of toddlers with head injuries and JR SMITH(who LeBron had them sign to a max deal in 2020)!

This pretty much ends Lonzo's career in LA. His game does not compliment Lebron's at all.

There were clearly a lot of other mitigating factors that went into James’s decision making. His owner in Cleveland was a crooked, smothering idiot. His team there was at a dead end. Los Angeles is where he maintains a couple of homes and conducts the majority of his off-the-court business. The weather is better. The politics there are halfway sane. The wine is EXCELLENT. This is where James wants to play but more critically where he wants to BE. He says he wants to play with his kid, and I don’t think he means in Milwaukee. Los Angeles is the endgame, and perhaps it always was. This is where LeBron’s twilight begins.

Oh it begins all right.

I do find it very amusing though that I’m firmly in the Jordan is GOAT camp, you and JBills are firmly in the LeBron is GOAT camp, and yet you two think he will struggle to be even competitive in the West.

Apparently the Jay Cutler excuses for LeBron will forever endure. “He’s the GOAT but he needs a lot of help to win because for some reason that makes sense.” - JBills and veganfan

Yeah, GOATS don't need help. Great refutation.

Seriously, can we allow for Thibs to win at least more than one playoff game in Minny before unzipping his trousers?

I've actually become more critical of Thibs than I used to be - he's got issues.

My main point here is not so much Minnesota specifically, but that the Lakers probably don't have enough to compete for a second round appearance in the playoffs, let alone for the WCF or Finals.
