He's a four and the Bulls last two top draft picks likely already fit best as 4s. I guess it all position-less though these days, but unless it's a sweetheart deal why the interest in a often-injured, iso-scorer who plays little to no defense?

America, the Bulls didn’t tank last year. That’s what everyone is so pissed about.

I really hope GarPax understands exactly what kind of player LaVine is. Short term deal only.

He actually does then when he does you will move the goalpost as you did with Philly and complain that he didn't make them a championship contender.

Just admit that anything less than them signing Lebron James will be a letdown for you. You're worse than your idol Bernstein.

The east is so bad the Bulls probably could make the playoffs even with these stiffs.

I doubt his ceiling is higher than the third best player on a contender.

isnt that what he is now? it would be suprising if he became a true #1 on a contender, but he could be a decent #2

I'd heard that about 6-8 weeks ago from a very reliable source. I hope they sign him but i wonder where he'll play. Don't know if he can guard 3's and Marrkanan is the 4 of the future.

I concur with you and then you tell me I'm wrong? shut up

Gamble is worth it now that LeBron has left the East. LaVine was having a great 3rd year in 2016-2017 until the injury — shooting 46% and 39% from 3. The 24 games he came back for this season wasn’t enough to get going, especially when you’re on a minutes restriction rushing shots and your teammates are taking turns sitting on the bench because of tanking.

Gamble definitely worth it. I wouldn’t want to pay any more than Aaron Gordon’s 4 year $84 million deal last night though. Hope he and Lauri mesh this year and save that $60 million or so for next summer when maybe Klay, Durant, or Butler want an easier path in the East.

Agreed. In fact I think Paxson said so on WSCR recently.

I actually want Parker if the price is right. You don't. There is a difference. I say take him and then figure it out later.

A little birdie told me but i didn't want to say anything. Figured he'd know since he is extremely close to the Parker family. Actually was one of the people that trained Jabari at some point. Didn't ask him if he'd gotten it directly from Jabari but i was certain that he had gotten it from a reliable source himself.

Unless you're the Warriors, Lakers, Celtics, 76ers, Rockets and maybe 1-2 other teams, what is the point of signing players to long-term deals right now? There really is no chance to compete except to get swept in the 2nd round of the playoffs. The current super-team models do make for some intriguing playoff matchups, but it really encourages everyone else to compete for the bottom and avoid competing.

Right now, all I can really ask the Bulls to do is play their young players and avoid taking on any salary. Maybe in 2-3 years, GS will split up and the league will re-open. Right now, why sign Jabari Parker to a 4 year deal? LeVine to 18M a season for 5 years?

I would’ve liked them to offer a 1 year $20 mil contract to Cousins. Who knows, maybe they did.

I think that the guy has huge talent but I don't believe that he is the type of guy who wants to work hard to get better. That is probably why Thibs got rid of him.

I say to euthanize Reinny. Make the aliens take Gar back. And bring Vinny back to beat the crap out of Pax. Stuff like that:)

It would have been funny all right to watch Cousins, "coached up" by Freddy:) "Me, Run up the court"? Hilarious!

That is the kind of creative move that would have been nice to see. I know Cousins isn't probably back at the start of the season, but it wouldn't have have mattered. Make him a possible long-term star piece if they liked how next season went. No guarantee he wouldn't have taken the chance to win a championship still, but for a team with an abundance of cap space, I can get behind a 1 year deal because it increases their assets and doesn't hurt their future unless getting another high draft pick is the primary goal of next season.

Cousins himself said he received no offers from any other team. But who knows. I think teams were reluctant because of the injury. Maybe if he waited a few extra days? This free agency period has been kind of slow.

I’m all for the Bulls signing guys to 1 year deals focusing on being players next summer. Say they sign LaVine to $20 million annual contract, they’ll still have about $14 million to spend. I forget how close you have to get but it’s pretty damn close unless they want to pay divvy up whatever amount they’re under to their current players. Jamal Crawford and Rodney Hood are still out there.

Bulls should trade for Melo. Bulls suck, he is on the last year of his deal, and OKC May take nothing for him since their payroll just passed $300M.

They’re probably gonna buyout Melo this summer. That trade wouldn’t do anything for the Bulls
