There is no competitive imbalance comparable to the NBA. Baseball is just not a sport that lends itself to dynasties. You could have the most talented team on paper in baseball and wind up in last place. No comparison.

IMO, Golden State is the favorite to win the whole thing next season.
I'd be surprised if another team won but you never know what other moves a team may make. If another team made a bunch of good moves they could compete.

That's nutz.. If I was the bulls I'd have thrown a big contract at him

No chance. He will be a shell of his former self coming off that injury.

No, the few teams that have attempted it have failed miserably.

The MLB has a huge competitive imbalance problem. It's just as top heavy as the NBA, if not more so. But yes, the nature of the sport as well as the no max contract rule lends itself to more competitive balance among the top teams and prevents dynasties for the most part.

The NBA does have upsets however. 4 yrs G.S. wasn't predicted to be anything special. Miami or S.A. were supposed to go on sustained runs.

An argument could easily have made that Cleveland nor G.S get there this year if there hadn't been injuries to great players on other teams.

I do agree that you know which 3 to 5 teams will be there every year.

I agree with that. Champions not as predictable but in Baseball there are a number of teams that have no shot at winning shit each and every season. I'm a fan of one. You know who they are before the season starts yet people on here argue over them anyway

People argue over the Bears and they haven't been shit for about 10 years.

The Bulls are by far the most successful franchise in this city's history (definitely anyone posting on this board's lifetime).

If you like the sport you like the sport. If you are a fan you will follow win lose or draw.

Bomani Jones is making the same argument about baseball on his Twitter feed so of course Jason is. They even tweet the same way (every tweet is a quote showing up the person they're arguing with so that everyone rushes in and likes his tweets). I wasn't too familiar with Bomani's work before but I feel like I've unlocked the whole Jason mystery through him.

Bomani also had his radio show canceled. Then he got a tv show that's somehow doing worse than Get Up.

Except, teams can get hot and win a title if they're playing well enough. There are 10-12 teams that could win the World Series this year and not be some shock the world upset.

In the NBA, there are like 3 each year, right?

Actually the teams that have tried it most often are the Yankees (kinda worked in 2009) the Mets (lol), and the Angels.

Dodgers. But yeah, half the teams in baseball could win the title on a given year.

Dodgers didnt really do it thru free agency. Most of theirs are drafted (Kershaw, Seager, Peterson, Jansen) or scrap heap (Taylor, Turner)

The 2000 Mets really thought they had something by acquiring an aging veteran all star team

Edgardo Alfonzo
Roberto Alomar
Jeromy Burnitz
Roger Cedeño
Al Leiter
Rey Ordóñez
Jay Payton
Mike Piazza
Mo Vaughn[7
