shit shit shit. As I was writing that I kept thinking to myself that I was forgetting a game. Definitely looking forward to Spider-Man. He's my favorite super hero and the game is being made by Insomniac. It's win win for me! Gonna make for a crowded fall since the game comes out begining of September. I assume we'll see RDR2 by the end of October?

So apparently God of War is like the best game ever created.

yep, looks awesome. I'm thinking about ditching Far Cry 5 for GOW. Original plan was to play GOW after FC5, but don't think I want to wait and so far FC5 isn't really grabbing me.

I picked up God of War and put 3-4 hours in over the weekend. It is solid, but it won't land near best games ever created.

Agreed.

Fighting a cold most of the weekend, so picked it up via my local redbox.

I put a good 6 hours in.

It's fun but very happy I didn't buy it. It got very repetitive.

I bought an Xbox one around Christmas because of the 4k player. My son got me some video games like the latest wrestling game (which seems like it runs itself without touching a control pad ),Maddon and my personal favorite,Mortal Kombat. I'm looking forward to Street Fighter,30th anniversary edition. I suck at video games but enjoy the fight games.

Shitty Twolves helped me play this some more tonight. Something happened in the story that made exploring and future exploring seem really cool. Definitely something I wasn't aware of that makes the game better for me. We'll see how long that feeling lasts.

So are you still playing FarCry5?

I picked up GoW and am probably 3 hours in. I don't normally love games like this, but it's solid and intriguing thus far.

That's 3rd person right? Never could do 3rd person shooters.

Yes, third person but not a shooter. Sort of a cross between hack 'n slash (think Diablo but more strategic) and RPG.

So are you still playing FarCry5?

Yes. I'm currently clearing my third portion of the county. Probably halfway done with the missions and side quests in that region.

God of War has always been a straight forward action-adventure game with arcade style combat until this entry, which definitely feels like more of an open-world action RPG. This game is the first 'over the shoulder' third person God of War. The previous games had static camera angles (think Resident Evil).

Battletech dropped. Other than issues with multi player and a little long download I am loving it.

I can't play two games at the same time unless one is a sports game. But, you guys and the reviews are making me want to put FC5 down for a bit and give GOW a try.

I think I'm gonna stick with FC5 while I finish up my dynasty team in Pro Evolution Soccer and then when those are done, get a PS4 Pro so I can take advantage of 4K when I play GOW.

New Spider-Man gameplay footage at E3 looks pretty sweet.

What did you like best about it? It's definitely different based on my limited playing time. Futuristic RPG vs medieval-type RPG...

FWIW, I played probably 10 or 15 hours of God of War and didn't like it. I definitely see why so many love it... but I'm a bigger fan of the true RPG elements than the action elements, generally speaking. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

I haven't played GOW, but I did play Horizon. Fun game, but pretty light on RPG elements if I remember correctly. From my recollection, the two selling points of HZD were the graphics and the combat. Story wasn't awful I guess.

Discovering new robots and tactics to bring down is fun. Becomes repetitive after 25 hours and when you become too strong but the first 25 hours are great. Fun characters and dialogue. Cool, varied biomes.

Could be High Rock + Hammerfell, based on the look of the brief trailer.

I'd just want diverse biomes, like Oblivion had.

Picked up GOW over the weekend. Put in a few hours, so far it's basically a button masher.

Any tips for the beginning of the game?

Got the PS4 Pro ready to go and Spiderman pre-ordered. One more week. It'll lead me straight into RDR2, so I guess my summer is over.

Spider-Man getting some good reviews, 85-90 range. IGN was a little critical about the lack of innovation (somewhat of an Arkam rip off I guess), but other than that everything is very positive.

I'm closing in on the end of God of War. I'm over half way done, probably pretty close to the end of the main story. Game is good, but a little confusing for me. Map is hard to understand, can't mark the map. leveling up is a bit of mystery as well.
