I knocked off around 3:00, fully intending to play a late afternoon round.

I got about 2 miles away from the office before I thought better of it.

9 holes early tomorrow morning, and then Silver Lake South on Tuesday afternoon.

76 with one OB and three 3 putts. Hit the ball much better than I expected. Hit four chips to 18 inches or less. The OB shot was just dumb and putting left me on the back missing a couple 4 footers. Hoping to get out tomorrow early if it doesn't storm. The cart was glorious and we had a good breeze at times.

75 yesterday ( par 70 course ) with another OB and two three putts. Getting close to putting it all together. Can't get off the
tee with a wood and my putter is bipolar. Teeing it up on Wednesday and thankfully the temps will be in the low 80s. I need
to start getting out to practice at least once during the week. I really have slacked on doing that this year and it shows.

Blowing out of work early and hitting up Silver Lake for a 2:45 tee time. Played twlite there a few weeks ago with my old man, and the course was in absolutely tremendous shape. Probably even better than Ravisloe which was amazing as well.

I hear ya T-Bone. I haven't been putting in the work and wonder why I'm struggling. Been hitting my irons like crap and went to the range after work yesterday, and guess what? I saw some improvement.

38/42/80 today at Hilldale Golf Club. Played as a single in about 2:45. Ball seemed to really carry with the high temp/humidity. Par 3s cost me most of my strokes.

Haven't played the course in at least 5-6 years. Forgot how much I enjoy the Robert Trent Jones Sr. design. Requires shotmaking and decent ball placement for approach shots. Still have to dial in my touch w/ the 52/58 wedges, but it's really nice to have more options at the top end of the bag.

40-41 yesterday. I walked, which was enjoyable on the front and then the heat and humidity really hit on the back. Had a double bogey on
each side. I went to the range on Tuesday and thought I had figured out a plan. I think what has really messed me up this year is that I am
determined to be able to hit a right to left shot off the tee when it calls for it and then a left to right shot off the tee when I need it. Just not
consistent enough to pull that off on a regular basis. #16 is a par 5 that can be reached with a very good drive and a long iron but you have to
try to hit a fade off the tee down a very tight chute. When I try to cut the ball I generally either get a butter cut or just hit it relatively straight.
About one out of every 6 or so I will leave the face wide open and banana slice it. I am about ready to scrap the whole thing and just try to
focus on hitting the power draw I have been playing for over 20 years. It is hard enough trying to dial in one swing but doing two has been
more difficult than I expected. I also missed a number of short putts so I need to spend more time on the greens hitting 6 footers and in. I
lipped out 3 yesterday. Weather looks great for the weekend so looking forward to getting back out there both days.

Nice shooting, fellas!

Played Silver Lake South on Friday afternoon. It was steamy. Put up an 8 on the first hole, but managed a 48 on the front so pretty decent after the 1st hole. Lost a couple balls on the back, and the beer really caught up with me...especially the last few holes. I didn't even write down a score the last 5 holes as I was pretty buzzed and had a wasted/lost shot on every one of them. Started the back with a bogey, par, double, par so from holes 2-12 I played pretty well. Was good to get out and hit a few good shots despite the heat. Probably won't have the chance to play for a couple of week unless I can squeeze in a 9 hole round.

Course gets a lot of play, but it was in pretty nice shape. The North was in better shape, but the greens rolled quick and true. They were in excellent shape. Pace of play wasn't the best as there was a small outing on the course, but one of my buddy's was a beginner so he didn't play real quick anyway. Besides with the heat and humidity it worked out well that was just took our time.

Gonna be Penske file time here in the office tomorrow so I am meeting a buddy and be first off at 6am just the two of us. Should be able to
play in 2.5 hours and get into the office no later than 9:30. I really should consider doing that more often.

After playing Hilldale, I'm ready for another shot at Ravisloe.

Similar length and shotmaking requirements.

Teed off at 6:10 with my buddy. Got around in 2:15 in a cart and to the office by 9. Might have to start doing that once a week.

Beautiful weekend to play. Hit the ball horrible Saturday and by the back nine I decided to just see ball/hit ball and get it over with. Started
playing better. Came up with a simple swing thought yesterday and shot the best round of the year on the hardest course I play. Golf is a
funny game sometimes.

Played the Joliet CC yesterday (Ahoy, polloi). Old school golf. Long, narrow, postage stamp greens and fuckin god damn trees everywhere. Shot ok (92). It was a great day. The weather was perfect and the 19th hole was better.

Walked 18 for exercise a couple weeks ago and completely ruined my back. Felt fine while doing it, but next couple days were brutal. Tried playing golf a couple days later up in Green Lake and the shanks I had for 2.5 months last year came back with a vengeance. By the end of the weekend I shot a 108 with 20 shanks on the same track I shot a 79 a week prior. Took a week off, might try again this week or might just take another week off.

Golf trip set for weekend of 8/10, hope to get it fixed by then so I don't end up with yet another ruined golf trip. I'm batting at about 50% lately in that department.

Getting ready to head down and visit my parents next week. Might be the last time I get to play golf with my dad. Anyway, he
took a picture of an old Ping putter I found in my bag and have been playing with when I go and visit. I reached out to an old
friend of mine from high school and asked him if he still had an old Ping putter that I traded him over 20 years ago. Hoping he has it,
as that was the first "real" brand named club I bought when I was like 13 or 14 years old back around 1989 or so. He's going to look
tonight and if he does still have it, I am going to try to trade back for it or buy it off him. Would be cool to get that back after so many
years.

Played twice last weekend at a course in the Columbus sticks that has massive tree density, rolling hills, water, and waste areas everywhere, for an average later-day fee of $22 WITH...the CART. Unfortunately, my long irons and putting have been shit so far this year. 101, and MUCH over 101, respectively  Haven’t broken 100 in six tries :(

Been shooting in the 90's for a good long time. Over the past couple years my shots are losing direction, I am hitting the ball all over the place. This year is a disaster. I pull, I slice, I shank and I cant figure it out. I think its because I have lost over 110 pounds since 2015 and I don't have to swing around a 46" waist any more. The more I lose the worse i golf. I am considering taking lessons to get this straightened out. Anyone have a guy in the south, or far south suburbs? I played every course from River Oaks to Minne Monesse so I am OK driving to that area.

why get lessons when it would be much cheaper and more fun to just get fat again?

I thought of that, but I enjoy being with women more then shooting a 92.

 fair point. You must be young cause at this point in my life I'd take breaking 80 over banging a super model 10/10 times.

  Great stuff on this page.

The amount of times I golf and my game will likely continue to suffer. The saving grace is that I really enjoy early golf so I'm good with a 5:30am tee time, then being on Dad duty the rest of the day.

40/46/86 Sunday at Mt. Prospect. Putting got sloppy on the back nine as pace of play slowed. Really happy with ballstriking, just need to dial in the flop shot w/ the 58* wedge. Love the mid-bounce versatility out of the sand with the 52/58.

Received an impromptu, unsolicited swing lesson at the practice area the evening before from Mr. Miyagi in a beekeeper hat. This really old goof was watching me and, in some cases, cheering when I chipped one in.

He proceeded to walk over, take my gap wedge out of my hands  and demonstrate the most perfect golf swing - takeaway, straight left arm, wrist hinge - everything. He had some serious rotation and swing speed for an old-timer.

Then he left.

Coyote Run tomorrow, Stony Creek on Wednesday morning. After that, I probably won't play until the Jorr Invitational in early August...unless I can squeeze in 9 holes.

played 9 a couple days ago and by the last 3 holes I finally started to figure things out and stop shanking balls. Hopefully that carries over. Back is sore from playing hockey last night for first time in 7 months, but if it feels good tomorrow I'll go and play after work.

Playing hockey Sunday morning at 7 no golf for me on Sunday.

Big golf trip coming up 8/9 weekend, need to get this all straightened out by then.
