Carl Landry with the block, and the rebound, and the save!

They salvaged one with the classic 'game 3' win at home

Tradition now dictates they'll be in game 4 for most of the game but lose, then get blown out in game 5

The game was in Utah.

Yeah, I realized that a few minutes later

I will give credit where credit is due, it's tough to win at Utah

I agree, but the series is over. I don't see the Rockets winning again in Utah but they may get to game 6. They will have a very tough time winning once more there.

I agree I think the series is over too, but that was an impressive win last night. I didnt really give them much of a chance to win a game at Utah. I'd be surprised but not shocked if they won game 4. They are 2-1 at Utah this year.

I'm really surprised they got taken to school that badly last night.

Well, in defense of Steve Kerr much of this is hindsight. He had no way of knowing that Shaq would have as little positive impact as he has. There are some non-Shaq reasons as to why Phoenix looks bad also.

True, but when the trade was made, I thought they were a better team with Marion, than they would be with a broken down Shaq.

Horrible 2nd half tonight by the Celtics. Lots of bad shots, and easy hoops for the Hawks.

It still wasnt a bad trade. This team with Marion instead of Shaq isnt faring any better. Shaq has played well whenever hes been in the game this series. The Suns problem starts up front with Steve Nash. He clearly cant guard anybody at this stage of his career, and Tony Parker and Many Ginobli are doing whatever they want to this team. They are creating good looks for teammates and scoring at will from whereever they want on the court. I would blame Nash moreso than any other one player so far in this series, but its more the entire team's defensive mindset.

This Stevenson/Lebron feud is funny. You have at worst, the 2nd best player in the league being called out by a average player. Early on today, it looks like James is going to try to win this game by himself.

Glad to see the Suns decided to show up for at least 1 game in the series. For a series that was suppose to go 7 games, and be a classic, this one has really sucked. Basically all blow outs except game 1.

What does it say that there have been so many blowouts already in the first round? It's like teams get down double digits and they say hell with it, why waste energy that we'll need the next game? That's what's so maddening to me about the NBA. I love the action, but the effort and intensity are often lacking.

Agree. Sadly the Eastern conference has had the better series so far. I'm holding out hope that this will get better after round 1.

76ers all over the Pistons again in the first half. This is starting to remind me of the Bulls being all over the Heat. A young, quicker team, running circles around a older veteran team on its last legs.

Never seen a team blow a 10 point lead after halftime, as the 76ers did. Within a minute, it was down to 2.

I dont agree. I think that their has definitely been some overall inconsistency, but I think its more a result of execution than effort. There have been just as many close games as blowouts, but during the blowouts alot of times it just comes down to a team executing better than another team. You makes a name for yourself in the playoffs, guys are trying hard.

Kid, looks like you can stick a fork in your Mavs. Impressive run in the 2nd with Paul on the bench. I didnt think this was possible, but I felt bad for Dirk last night. He was the only one who gave a damn and deserved to be on the court with the Hornets. He got absolutely no help from Kidd and Josh Howard. I wouldnt be surprised by a major shakeup this offseason. At the very least Avery's job needs to be in jeapordy.

It's all because Howard is weed smoker

I do wholeheartedly agree that Avery should be gone (well you said in jeopardy but that should be a foregone conclusion). The guy is just not basketball smart, he routinely gets outcoached by practically everyone

It's pretty clear this incarnation of the Mavs isn't going anywhere. Time to blow it up
