we were talking about this at work. the wnba doesn't make a dime of profit on 25 mil in revenue. the NBA completely subsidizes its losses to keep it going. meanwhile the nba has millions in profits out of their over 7 Billion in revenue.

lets say that 25 Million in revenue was actually profit and profit earmarked to be distributed amongst the players only. it would still give each player 166k. which is 1/4 the NBA league minimum salary.

her argument is % revenue at 30% vs the men at 50% but thats just how business works. my best sales guys eventually make 18% of their sales where as my lowest sales guys only make 10%. if they bring in more they get more. its pretty simple.

The NBA should subsidize D-League to foster better development of the NBA players, but there is no real argument to subsidize the WNBA. Nobody gives a fuck about women's professional basketball. It's a huge favor they are keeping the league alive with anyways.

Years ago when Bill "Huge" Simonson was on WMVP did he have a gimmick where he challenged female basketball players to an afternoon of one-on-one games, and he kicked all their asses, including some college players? I seem to remember Peggy Kusinski being terribly frustrated by the spectacle.

I do think they're too expensive, yes.

Cancel the league and allow women to play in the NBA. if they are good enough to play against the men, then they will get paid to play in the NBA. If not then be happy with the pay you are getting in a woman's league that does not generate a lot of revenue to pay its players.

To be fair, $3 would be too expensive for the shit product
