Hey dumbfucks- Dan Bernstein commenting on a TV host's huge jugs is not the same thing as tweeting racist, vulgar comments. And Cub fans did not give Chapman a standing ovation with the message "We forgive you. It's OK." The only similarities are that both are rather despicable humans that are outstanding relief pitchers. Most Cub fans would state that Chapman was their most disliked important piece of that championship team.

I'm not going to call either despicable humans. Definitely not Hader.

You're pretty quick to judge. I wonder how your day to day shakes out.

My day is going great- thanks. You don't think Chapman is despicable? How do you defend Hader's tweets?

So Cubs fans = good. Brewers fans = evil. And Hader is as bad as Chapman because he said dumb things as a teenager even though Chapman shot a gun in a argument with his wife.

Some brilliant thoughts there. And I would say it's worst that Bernstein said those things about a fellow member of local media as a married-father vs. using bad words as a 16-17 year-old with the context being uncertain.

Those are some mighty big projections about fanbases you are making- real brilliant. My statement was about the whataboutisms from Brewers fans comparing the teams. It is a useless comparison between the Cubs and Chapman and the Brewers and Hader.

He was a stupid kid.

Perhaps he was joking.

He also apologized. It sounded authentic.

But he was a kid.

And another part on this- he is a part of a generation of kids who were basically guinea pigs for growing up on social media. The early verdict on this is that it's not a positive thing.

I am honestly amazed that people think it's honorable to look for shit on people's Twitter and publish it during the All Star game like they are doing some sort of public service.

I'm intrigued by the psychology that would drive someone to start looking for random old shit on Twitter for the most random of "celebrities".

I'm more intrigued that teams don't employ someone to find it first.

In that case, a volley if I may, sir, do you feel that if someone is a dipshit on Twitter when they were a kid that they should not be able to earn a living in an elevated field (such as playing a sport) in the public eye? That they can not "grow up" and move past those thoughts?

Bernstein actively supported deranged QCP's Twitter habit. And that was a middle-aged man responsible for the well-being of children.

As for them being evil- listening to Bernstein's call with the Penn State trustee was simply disgusting. The glee in which Bernstein took in having private conversations with the guy's wife about their marital problems and revealing that while publicly shaming the trustee was my breaking point. Whatever soul Bernstein had was gone after that call.

Most people don't spew racist, homophobic, and misogynistic comments as a teenager and then magically transform into a mature, accepting adult 7 years later. That's not normal.

Nothing about being a professional baseball player is. He'd probably still feel the same way if he stayed home in Annyrunnel Canny and got a job in middle management.

What's your estimate of "most people"? And it seems like you did not play team sports as a teen.

Did you not attend a public school?

I said stupid stuff that I'd definitely consider racist, homophobic and misogynistic at 17 years old. And by 24 I'm pretty sure I regretted all of it. I definitely do now. 17 year olds go to great lengths to try to be humorous and guess what was considered humorous on the internet 7 years ago? Racist, homophobic and misogynistic jokes. Hell, in 2018 too. Go visit reddit.

And how old are you? I'm 44 and this would have been more prevalent in the early 90s when I was when the age when Hader made his tweets but this is definitely not common for teenagers today and those of Hader's age group.

Yes it is.

You are sheltered from teens and young adults on the internet and in schools.

Jump on Overwatch or Fortnite for a few hours, and read through some /r/WTF.

Kids. Kids never change.

I worked at the Hanover Park Park District for several years. I currently have nieces and nephews that are teenagers. I play games on the internet.

Maybe your problem is that you WORK with teenagers. If you're in a position of power, you're not a fly on the wall when you get a bunch of teenagers in the same room. You may think you have a reading on teenagers. You do not.

The most vulgar things I hear in any given week are uttered by teenagers.

I can attest that WoW was littered with anti-gay and racist stuff. I don't see near as much on LoL, but that game is 5v5 vs a massive amount of ungrouped individuals like in WoW. I largely avoid audio now because the kids that play these games are insane.
