Well, medical professionals disagree with you and that's good enough for me. Rodgers 10 year track record proves his collarbone can hold up in the NFL.

I am very familiar with the concept of when arguing over a topic to attack the strength of your opponent's position head on. However this last post implying his collarbone is actually very strong and never breaks is perhaps taking that idea a little too far.

I don't really buy that it's "stronger", but it seems to be a factual statement to say that it is not in any way weakened by the previous two breaks.

Age changes these things. Older people and players are more prone to injury. Aaron Rodgers has missed 16 games because of injury in the past 5 years. The fact that he missed 2 games because of injury his first 5 years doesn't matter.

None of it matters. He didn't injure anything with a history of it being reoccurring.

Or we can just settle this with a good old fashioned wager. $100, O/U 14.5 starts for Rodgers this season, I'll take over. If you're confident in your position you will accept.

I would prefer to wager on division wins. That's what's important. I have $100 that says they won't win more than 4.

I’m not taking that deal. I can see them going 4-2.

I just wanted confirmation you were trolling on thinking he would get hurt again and I got it.

I've never guaranteed an injury. There is no trolling in believing that an older player could get hurt again. If not because of Favre or Brady this wouldn't be considered a controversial opinion.

Keep in mind I acknowledged that even if he lost a step he would still clearly be the best QB in the division.

It's not just them. Brees is still very good. River is two years older and has started 50 more games than Rodgers and was as good as ever last year. QB's dont break down at 34 anymore, especially top tier ones.

That's like acknowledging his name is Rodgers. Cousins and Stafford are mediocre and Mitch sucks. Of course he will easily be the best QB in the division. There's no good faith counterargument to that.

Outside of the collarbone injury Rodgers hasn't missed a single game the last four seasons. Outside of two freak collarbone injuries he's been consistently healthy his entire career. This simply isn't a worry you're basing on anything factual. But yes, you're allowed to worry about anything.

I can't imagine breaking the same collarbone twice is a positive. I imagine that makes increases the odds for another break. He's missed 16 games in 5 years.

It wasn’t the same collarbone though so your basis on this argument is flawed from the getgo. He broke the left in 2013 and the right in 2017. Playing QB in the NFL is the only thing increasing the odds of another break - same as budding superstar Mitch.

Fair enough. I thought it was the same one. The fact that it was both and most recently the one on his throwing side is seen as a positive? Over the past 5 years how many QB's have broken 1 collarbone my friend?

As long as Rodgers is on the field it's highly unlikely that the Packers will suck. This isn't me going full meatball. That'll come later in the season.

Mitch is the 4th best QB in the division. Until the Bears have the 1st or 2nd best, they will continue being a mediocre to shitty team. If the defense gets great, You can get lucky every 3-5 years or so and run into a double digit win season like Horseshoe Lovie did. Its all about the QB and the Bears have the worst. Not much else to dissect.

Nas is on par with a broken clock (maybe that’s too kind), but I think he’s onto something. Bears have the most upside, and don’t count out Blue Hen Strong.

I don’t think there’s anything to be pessimistic about anything. How could it be any worse than it has been?

The most upside? Comparative to recent seasons or what?

I don’t know what Blue Hen Strong is. What’s that?

I thought the same thing about the White Sox and here we are.

Bears will be 3rd in the division. Maybe 2nd if Minnesota struggles. 7 or 8 wins.

Has anyone claimed an injury of any kind is a positive? Breaks heal and they don’t necessarily equate to an ongoing concern. If I were you I’d be much more worried about Long’s repeated shoulder and neck issues considering the position he plays, along with a touted free agent WR coming off a major knee injury.

The Bears were competitive in some of their losses last season, moreso than the Browns who still have a ton of organizational issues. The Bears seem to be putting a better system together. They have a solid defense too.

Nagy is a Blue Hen. U of D.

I like Nagy and that’s the only reason I can find for optimism regarding the Bears. A good coach makes a world of difference. There’s nothing special or beyond mediocre about the roster talent though.

Comparing Long and Rodgers is silly. The Bears can win without Long. The Packers are toast without Rodgers

I don't know what your point is about the collarbone. You appeared to be calling me out because I got the recent collarbone injury wrong. Like somehow because it was the right collarbone that it was better. Also you never got back to me on the number of QB's that have broken 1 collarbone in the past 5 years.

BTW how does it feel knowing that you have had 2 of the top 10 QB's in NFL history for nearly 30 years straight but only 2 SB wins? That has to suck considering the expectations?

On paper the Bears have a lot of talent on offense. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is the biggest question mark. On defense Fangio has been able to make chicken salad despite not having an elite player and with a ton of injuries. All around the Bears arrow is pointing up.

It does not suck. I’ve seen two SB wins by my favorite team in my lifetime and you’ve seen zero by yours despite you being a few years older. That is what must suck. I like the effort but you simply cannot twist that around to it being an edge for Bear fans our age.

So they’re not as bad as the Browns, were in some close losses and can’t get any worse than they have been for the last several years are reasons for optimism. You’re a glass is half full guy which is admirable.

On paper the Bears still have the third best skill position players in the division. It’s not just the QB but yeah it’s hard to win a division with the worst QB in the division.

Browns will have as many or more wins than Bears this year.
