Not where I shop!!

The degree to which Dream gets slept on staggers me.

He simply got washed out in the MJ era. I am sure there are a few in the Shaq/Kobe or Lebron eras that feel similar.

Prime Hakeem > Prime Shaq

He dominated Shaq in their finals matchup.

"We're happy for ya!" moment:

In HS, I went to a BC Allstars camp in Indiana. This is circa summer of 1983. Bird and Olajuwon were their guest speakers/trainers. They ended up playing a one on one game to ten for us. Olajuwon won. It was pretty impressive...I couldn't believe how quick Dream was with his spin moves.

Yes, Olajuwon was entering his last year of college when this went down.

I wasn't aware we were arguing otherwise.

Depends on the rules. Going by today's rules, you would need some shooters because the best defense in history isn't gonna completely shut down GS.

I'd probably have Nash and Dirk or Bird in my 5 for that reason.

Then throw in Pip, MJ, and Hakeem for the D.

The dollar figures given to the players on this looks like something FF would have come up with.

You can beat Golden State without shooting 3's.

You could with 90s rules, but I don't think you could with today's rules.

You would also need shooters with today's rules for spacing. They could just run a zone and clog the paint otherwise.

He's no worse than the 4th best center of all time.

When and where do I get my $20, and do I have to spend it on this goofy thing?

If it weren't for Jordan, I think he would get more props. His performances in those Finals series are up there with the best of all-time.

This is way too easy. Just without even thinking give me Kobe, Bird, Nash, Duncan, and Dirk and it’s a wrap. There’s dozens of other combos that would wreck them in this grid.

This, but for fun:

LeBron, Kobe, Shaq, Garnett and Thomas.

For fun you can REALLY wreck GS with the full $20

Could you beat them with only five players? I assume you would need at least eight......

Can't believe they left Harold 'Baby Jordan' Miner off that list ... smh.

Like leash mentioned, this whole thing more or less depends on what 'rules' we're talking about here. Anyway, just to post a set that hasn't been posted yet:

Dream
Mailman
LeBron
Kobe
Thomas

GFY. I was the first person to criticize it.

Sure you could. Cleveland did it three seasons ago, almost did it four seasons ago, as did Houston last year and if not for Kawhi getting cheap shotted two years ago. Golden State is as susceptible to to sound defense as any other great teams.

All those teams shot threes though.

Although, ironically, Houston did miss 27 of them in a row in an otherwise close Game 7 against GS without their 2nd best player.

Kobe should be $4. He's not on the Magic/Bird/Duncan level.

I think that Cleveland team actually shot more threes than GS.

I'd change my five. Have to include Pippen for only $4 if you really want to destroy GS. He would ruin Durant.

Nash
Jordan
Pippen
Bird
Hakeem

Not so sure. Penny, Hill and Nique destroyed him on a regular basis. I would go with Mamba. You have to make Durant work on both ends.

Nearly any 5 you pick would be better defensively than the Warriors. Be physical on defense and offense and you'll kick the shit out of them.

Swap Jordan for LeBron and that is a beastly team.

Yeah i wonder what type of team will ultimately be the team that beats them. We will never see that style of ball again. Looked up the 85 Lakers stats and saw that as a team they only avg 3 three point shots per game. Now you have at least 4 to 5 guys avg that individually per game.

I wonder if it is going to be a team that attempts to out G.S. them or will it be a team that presents a contrast in style. I don't think you can beat them trying to play their way.
