TM loves football. Don't know if he's upset but he'll usually engage more during the season.

He had one of the worst completion percentages on one of the worst y/pa in the NFL. That certainly doesn't suggest he was accurate last year.

I'm not convinced America watched more than a few quarters last year..I expect Nas to be the Bears apologist. Mitch looked bad last year..he'll look bad this year.

If you can't hack it going against vanilla defenses playing half-speed during training camp (especially those that struggle to turn the ball over), you're going to have some problems during the season.

But we already know that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was bad last year, so his training camp difficulties shouldn't come as a surprise.

Hopefully he will improve.

You are concerned about practice reports from July? Come on.

If practices don't matter, why bother practicing?

To make mistakes, learn, and prepare for the game. Interceptions in practice are fine, especially if you are trying to learn something. That's where to throw them.

I don't think you've expressed a coherent point here. Obviously, the goal of practicing should be to reduce mistakes. So far, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky hasn't succeeded in doing so. Hopefully he will improve as training camp progresses.

To speak in these kinds of absolutes in moronic. Right now nobody knows for sure what either of these guys will be. Time will tell us everything we need to know about these QBs. Some dope on a message board will not.

You're right, some dope on a message board(you) doesn't know. You were the eternal Cutty apologist. You've forfeited your right to critique Bears QBs. I was right about Jay from day 1.. Listen n learn.

How bout we wager on who has a better season? If Mahomes wins, you can't post in the cub section til after the all star break.. If Mitch has the better season I can't post in sox section til after the all star break.

He's apparently having a crappy start to training camp...but still threw fewer interceptions in his first six practices than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky did in his first six practices.

Mahomes has thrown 7 INTs in 6 days of practice and has been receiving a lot of negative press from his struggles in KC camp.

Quote:
Since the Chiefs donned their pads Saturday, Mahomes has thrown an interception in every practice except Monday, which was a light day in shorts. Although the picks indicate an improvement on the defensive side of the ball, they also signal the quarterback has plenty to work on in the week leading up to the first preseason game.

David Haugh says (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky had his best practice of training camp on Sunday. He still threw two interceptions, though:

David Haugh wrote:
He hit throws all over the field. Downfield throws, short throws, throws to the sideline, throws over the middle. Simply put, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was on his game. It was a noticeable contrast to Saturday’s disjointed performance and many of the inconsistent performances we’ve seen from the second-year quarterback throughout camp.

“Today was a very good day for him,” Nagy said. “He grew in the fact of — today was an anticipation and accuracy day for him. So he threw the ball early and on time, and then he was very accurate. There were some tight windows, and he hit a lot of those today.”

Looking through my notebook, there are a lot of examples to choose from. Some highlights:

In live-tackling drills against the second defense, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky connected with tight end Trey Burton on a perfectly placed fade in the back, right corner of the end zone. The ball was away from safety Deiondre’ Hall where only Burton could catch it.

Later in that drill, on a fourth-and-goal, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky progressed through his two front-side options and located wide open tight end Dion Sims in the back of the end zone for a touchdown. Great read and patience.

In one on one drills, Prince Amukamara ran stride-for-stride with Anthony Miller deep down the left sideline. But (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky dropped the ball in over Miller’s outside shoulder. It was a tiny window, and the 30-yard throw was exceptional.

Next pass in one-on-ones: (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky hit Burton on an out-cutting route, putting the ball on Burton as soon as the tight end turned his head back to the quarterback. No chance for the defensive back. Completion.

Back in team drills, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky hit Sims to the post with the perfect amount of zip and touch on a throw over inside linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski. Another completion through a tight window.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky showed a lighter side at the end of practice. His pass to Kevin White down the right sideline was underthrown — it appeared to slip out of his hand a bit. As White adjusted to the ball, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky thought his receiver drew pass interference. So he took the towel from his waistband and threw it in the air like a penalty flag.

For as sharp as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was Sunday, his streak of being intercepted in every full-speed practice continues. He was picked off twice, but neither detracted from his performance.

Eddie Jackson caught a throw that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky obviously was just testing deep down the middle against a certain coverage. At end of practice, Hall made a sick one-handed grab on a deep ball down the sideline intended for Burton. All credit to Hall for using his length and hand(s) to make that catch.

Overall, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky should take some confidence from Sunday. It’s only one practice, but, as Nagy said, a meaningful step forward because of how (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky anticipated throws and threw accurately. That’s a sign (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is getting more comfortable with what he’s thinking and seeing.

Not sure I agree. Seems like the message here is that Mitch finally had a good practice after failing abysmally through most of training camp.

All this sunshine blowing is never honest or appropriate in this situation. Reminiscent of Hub in his glory or Mike Pyle doing 90s radio.
