To say otherwise is just because of a politically motivated response.

The NFL has a bigger share of total cable subscribers than they did when the protests started.

Of course some people may quit for a lot of reasons but tv ratings are shrinking because less people have cable.

Aren't the majority of NFL games free over the air in market? Also, it does not seem crazy to think Trump supporters would boycott- at least a large percentage of them.

NFL ratings aren't regional. The national games get consistent ratings.

NFL ratings are dropping at a rate lower than tv ratings in general.

How do you explain this?

Still, things could be worse for the NFL. It could be Nascar. A decade ago the sport emerged as an unlikely challenger to pro football’s small-screen primacy, attracting nearly 20 million viewers to the 2006 Daytona 500. But Nascar has lost more than 45% of its audience since then, according to Nielsen.

Yeah that Nascar was a thing then. Wonder why such a hard crash so to speak. I heard a few things but for a sport to completely collapse is amazing.

Well location and the obvious (I’m no Lugan, nor a maroon) aside, the White Sox vs Cubs thing is pretty significant, I agree.

These are not related to the idea that some people did not like the protests, and that this caused them to stop watching the NFL.

I'm sure some people stopped watching because they went blind too. That doesn't change the numbers that NFL football has grown among those who still watch.
