Overall, I give this team a C+ during April. They got off to a pretty hot start, but have lost 7 of thier last 11 games. During most of those losses, the problem has been lack of offense. The past week, I see trends of 2007 with the overall lack of offensive production. They should have won Monday's game. They should have won yesterday. They could have won the first game of the double header on Saturday, and taken at least one more from the Yankees. I like what I see from the pitching staff overall, especially the starters. But this inconsistent offense scares me a bit. Hopefully with better weather the numbers will go up, and they can put together rallies and count on scoring runs without hitting HRs.

They left an insane number of runners on base yesterday. Completely unacceptable.

I would agree with the C+ rating, especially after showing their potential last month. I am sure they will start stepping up here shortly, and especially when Interleague starts.

I am concerned with the amount of baserunners the Sox are stranding each game. They are showing the ability to draw walks by being patient, but when a single or sac fly is needed, it always seems they get too aggressive and end up striking out or popping out to the infield.

I agree its early, but the Tigers are winning again and the Sox need to add some cushion between them and the "others".

Hopefully they can split tonight and get healthy off the BJ's.

I meant Blue Jays.

Had to figure the offense would come down to Earth a little. Considering everybody had this team finishing 3rd at best in the division, you gotta be happy with leading the division through 25 games. They had a decent start last season too though, so I hope you arent right with the 2007 parallels Frank.

I didn't expect them to light up the scoreboard every nite, but in the last week they have stranded a ton of runners and squandered lots of scoring opportunities with lack of execution. Like I said, they could have and should have won that Monday game against Baltimore. The Sox will only get so many good starts out of Danks and Floyd, and they've already wasted a couple good starts from them, and by Vazquez and Buerhle as well.

How can you give a team that has led the division for most of the month a C+. Right now, this team gets a B+ as they have far exceeded expectations. The hitting has been troubling but 4 out of 5 starters with sub 4 ERAs more than balance it out. Judge them on the results.

I do not see the rest of the season going as well.

A C+ because over the last week and a half, they have lost a lot more than they have won, and because in those losses the Sox had lots of chances to win.

They have the 2nd best team ERA in the American League.

I'm actually starting to worry about some of the offensive guys. Not panic yet. I'll give them until mid May.

Well, at least they were in first place for a month. Not a good end to April.

I think we have just about the same record we had after last April.

You on the payroll? Funy how quiet this section gets when the white sox lose, kudos to Frank and Beardown for at least giving a crap in a win or loss.
