Chris Simms destroyed him on a recent podcast, all but called him a wasted pick.

He was a year before trubusty, only one guy on this board was a believer in Lynch(DR. Ken)

Sorry you just usually make a bold statement on QBs and such.

I don't remember if I liked him. I remember seeing him at Memphis and thinking he had talent. You put a guy like that in the back of your mind as a third rounder you really like then all of a sudden he climbs up draft boards into the first and you don't like him as much.

It's like Josh Allen this year. There are some skills there but he is not pro ready and the high draft doesn't allow for the development time he needs.

I liked him. They are all lottery tickets. Buy one with the best odds and hope. If it fails move on and do it again.

That's too reductive. If your first round QB is worse than Tim Tebow you fucked up royally. I think you're allowed to swing and miss obviously, but if the pick is historically bad at football like Paxton Lynch, Hackenberg, etc, I think that should justifiably go down as a pretty severe black mark on your resume.

I'm not saying it should be ignored. Quarterback is a high risk/highest reward position to draft highly. I don't think it makes much of a difference if they become a career backup instead of falling out of the league. It's the most extreme example, but there were legitimate arguments on whether Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf should go #1, and then two years later a bunch of teams passed on Tom Brady for Chad Pennington and a bunch of bums.

What about if your first round QB WAS Tim Tebow?

Truth.

There is no doubt Tebow opinions were stronger on either side because of who he was than what he did
