I believe that. I am at 60x without treatment, basically on every breath, and I struggle with treatment when I have sinus, respiratory, or stomach issues. I can believe that depression can creep in because a person gets really run down physically and will power becomes very challenging.

I've been diagnosed with that and narcolepsy, but I don't wear the machine--it dries me out and is generally uncomfortable. I'm (currently) thin and in good shape, so that helps. However, I may try to start wearing it again....used to be on drugs that dried me out, so maybe it's better now.

So today I was pretty high because the boss said i'm starting off well. It was more like a pat on the back.

But later at the end of the day the guy who is suppose to help me sort of was pissed that the boss showed favoritism towards me.

Then I was on a downer.

Never had this happen before. I'm pretty even keel.

Maybe just one of those days. But after the downer , got the stupid thoughts again. now going to watch tv and go to bed early. Maybe sleeping it off will help.

I'm seriously thinking about the therapy thing now. I probably should have done it years ago. Just stupid old fashioned stigma. And the cost. I guess I can view it like a long term investment in myself.

So what do I do look for? what kind of therapist? Do they have different types? Maybe it was posted here but I overlooked it.

1. It's good that the other guy is pissed at you. If you were a dumbass at the job, he'd be happy. Fuck him (Well, not literally.), every day he's miserable is a winning day for you.
2. Use the 800#s above to start, ask them for suggestions at the end of each call. Call them as many times as you need to. I have a friend who has done call line volunteering in the UK, she and I have talked about this in the past, there is no such thing as "calling too much."
3. I'm willing to bet that you don't have a regular internal medicine doctor. Consider doing some research on that as well, get yourself physically healthy so you have will power to attack the emotional challenges.

You have to find one with whom you are comfortable. It might take a few different ones, but it is worth the effort.

You can also find some with sliding-scale pay structures.

Try not to get triggered by anything at work--you are still so new to the environment that it is hard to tell who you can trust, who is cool, and who is full of it. First impressions don't mean much.

If you have insure log onto the web site ,do search for provider.then look them up. Most have websites. you might have to go to a couple before you find one you are comfortable with. I actually had one tell me he was not even going to try and help me on the 3rd session in, he was "not my advocate". Walked out and never looked back

man i'm having it rough tonight. just feel defeated. going to try to sleep it off maybe. nothing on tv or internet even to get my mind off this.

for those of you out there doing therapy, does your therapist do sessions after work? starting a new job I doubt I can get any time during the 8-5 hours. How does it work for you all? Is it normal for therapists to work after 5pm or on weekends?

And medication. I'm really afraid of it but for those who are taking it, is it really helping? does it help you feel more positive and confident if you're dealing w/ depression?

Not a bigfan of editing posts. If it's warranted, then it is better for all involved to delete them IMO.

what did they edit?

@Hawaii: Yes, many counselors work evening hours. You may have to wait a month or so to get an appointment, but then you can schedule once a week. It's worth the wait and it's the best long-term solution to depression.

Also, it may take time to find a med that works for you, but be aware than many meds work well. Prozac is one that has very few side effects and is easy to discontinue. Other anti-anxiety and anti-depressants cause significant weight gain and are about as easy to discontinue as heroin. But there are some good ones out there, so don't fret.
