Spiegs is good baseball show host and would be good as a overnight host.

He has a better presence than any other host and doesn't take himself so seriously. He's clearly on the lower end of the hosts with sports knowledge, but he has an easy personality to listen too. I don't have any issues with Spiegal - he's much better than McKnight, but lacks the personality to complement his sports knowledge.

Even at this stage of the game, mac is interesting. Spiegel is not.
Mac has had the ability to make me laugh. Spiegel does not.

Spiegel has talents....being an entertaining and interesting talk show host is not one of them.

Mac understands that the key to any kind of talk radio is engaging the listener and is a master at doing so. Spiegel has no understanding of this principle and thus struggles to keep his audience interested.

Mac remains light years ahead of Spiegel as a radio host.

What Mac does better:

1. He has has a superior radio voice (when healthy).
2. He has a superior sense of humor.
3. He keeps the conversations and show moving at the correct pace for optimal listening.
4. He can be smart but not nerdy, and he's a break from the nerd radio programming all day at the station.
5. He relates to people better.

I like spiegs, but there are five clones of him on the air at that station and that's enough.

When I think sports radio I think of guys like Mac. I never had that same thought with Spiegel. For whatever reason I thought of him as a guy that just fell into the job but could easily be doing something else, likely better.

I enjoyed the hell out of their show together, though. I would kill to have that back over Parkins. Parkins is like a 22 year old female college graduate writing for Vox. Brutal thoughts, all the leftist buzzwords.

I completely agree. He'said smart enough to hang with the Bernstein's of the world but has got enough of a common touch to have a conversation with "Bernie from Berwyn" and not belittle him. I like Spiegs quite a bit, but he can't do both like Mac can. Mac's "guy talk" is also better than Spiegs'.
