I guess we will just have to wait to find out if Nagy knows what he is doing. It may be that he knows how fragile the offensive line is and wants to protect them? This really is the weak link for this team other than no pass rush. But if they lay an big fat egg against the fucking Packers, then he will be accountable.

We were going to have to wait no matter what he did today

Chris Blech and Adam Abracadabra had frequently said that preseason games are pointless, dumb, and have no benefit, but now they're both pissed that the starters didn't play yesterday saying how important it is for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and the new WRs to get reps in this new system. Blech was even reading stat lines of starters from other teams who played this weekend.

It would obviously be optimal for the Bears if the starters could gain a lot of experience during the preseason while also entering the regular season healthy.

Unfortunately, this can't be the case. Injury problems are starting to mount among starters and key contributors--Hicks, Floyd, Trevathan, Smith, Lynch, Long, Shaheen and Robinson all have issues--so Nagy's decision to hold out the starters seems like a good one to me. Health has to take precedence over reps.

We know how this will end: Week one, Mitch will throw noine interceptions and Kevin White will suffer a season ending surgery.

It's interesting how some franchises have medical/training staffs and front offices that never have their guys get healthy.

Yes it is. The Bears need to bring Rusty Jones back, I guess. He's now working for the Colts.

I suspect the Bears will be pretty bad during the first month of the season. The real test for Nagy will come after the bye in week 5. If the Bears can improve from that point forward, things will be looking up.

Were the Bears this consistently injured under Emery or Angelo?

As I recall, they became a healthier team when Rusty Jones joined the staff in 2005.

Agree on the player list except for Lynch. He's the defensive equivalent of Harvey Unga. A guy who keeps getting mentioned buy no one ever sees on the field.

I'm not sure Lynch is making the roster.

Article I read explained it well: They have had 2,000 practice reps. The 35 more they would have gotten vs KC won't make any difference whatsoever.

2000 reps against the Bears Defense. 35 against a real defense probably could have helped.

Biggs said last week he will probably make the team due to the lack of pass rushers.

The Bears backups put up 24 first half points on that defense. Not sure how real they really were/are.

Damn. Not a good sign that a guy who has basically sat out training camp is making the team simply due to lack of other options.

Pace wouldn't feel right about entering the season unless he had almost entirely neglected at least one key position in the draft and free agency.

KC looked like crap yesterday. Are they that bad or did they sit their defensive starters?
