Just a few minutes ago on the Tweety...

@Jason1Goff: If I did a podcast that consisted of more than sports would you check it out?

Finally, Jason can talk about more than sports.

"Are you tired of your local post office being an underground homosexual hookup spot? I know I definitely am. That's why I use stamps.com."

This guy still doesn't get that his political opinions don't matter to anyone but himself.

I don't listen. I can't take but 5 minutes of Connor before I get a headache. Are you going to tell me with a straight face that Bernstein and McKnight is better than Bernstein and Goff? At least Goff knew sports. McKnight doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground...about ANYTHING. And that goes with his nonexistent personality. Also, his phony voice inflections are nails on a chalkboard. For the life of me, I can't figure out why this nothingburger is on my radio and not in the sales department or somewhere more suited to his nothingness.

My God, is he ever gonna stop being bitter? Will he ever realize that he has flaws as a broadcaster? Nope.

But yes, Jason. I will listen to you kill whitey on your podcast. I hate whitey too. We all should hate whitey.

It's a telling post by Goff on twitter.

My read: The ESPN 1000 thing failed. He fucked up the interview. Disney bosses got scared. Now he's desperate. So here comes the podcast. Mac couldn't make money doing a podcast. And cracker America loves Mac. So Goff can't make money either. Because 75% of sports radio listeners in America are crackers.

entire professional career steeped in sports media and he couldn't get that right but now he thinks he can delve into the realm of talking about anything else?

There will definitely be market for his non-sports podcast. I can't count how many times I have heard someone say "This is a complex, multifaceted issue which calls for the analysis and opinion of someone who found the academic rigors of SIU so demanding they quit after 3 months."

I'll certainly listen to the first one. Because he'll tell the story of being fired from the SCORE again. Like he did on Larry's podcast. Maybe he'll add more details. And there is no doubt that he will cry again.

Then probably that will be it. I listened to drinky's first one. Started the 2nd one, but it's stupid. It's like two high school kids talking about stupid stuff. Larry's? The only one I wanted to hear was the one with Goff.

How many people have podcasts in this country? Gotta be over a million if drinky is doing one.

For someone who has not been on the Chicago airwaves for damn close to six months Jason Goff certainly gets a lot of attention around here. If the level of interest he generates on this board is indicative of his popularity with the wider community, ESPN 1000 would be foolish not to hire him. He would be the most important sports radio personality in the city.

Well if that were the measurement, activity on thsi board, then DiCaro should be in prime time.

Maybe she should be. Whether you're listening because you hate the host, or listening because you love them, I don't think the Score cares.

Yeah he is gone and the paternalistic "if you had just done it this way" you'd still have your job patronizing that encompasses most critiques of him is the most laughable thing in all of this.

Meanwhile one of the people that replaced him has openly disdained sportstalk for the better part of a decade or so. Even told the very people on this board how happy he was to reinvent himself as a classic rock host ostensibly because he had become "bored" with talking sports.

The second he decided to return to sports the same guys bashing Goff lapped the shit up and conveniently ignored the comments he made when he departed the sportstalk bosom a mere 2 years earlier.

It is from this group that one is expected to get an objective read on Goff? Ok

This is bullshit. Many of us have enjoyed Goff's fall from grace and like rubbing it in the nose of his delusional supporters. Don't confuse talking about him on a forum to wanting to listen to his rambling sports thoughts and constant racial subtext.

He has been gone for 6 months and who exactly are his "supporters"?. There hasn't been an overt display of love for him and its obvious that McKnight hasn't been an upgrade and its debatable if Mac has either. Goff is still by far the most talked about guy at that station and he hasn't been around in 6 months. If the goal was to whack him then he has been whacked but some people just can't seem to let him go for some reason.

I see his supporters quite often on social media. You're right- not as much around here. McKnight is an upgrade but that is just an indictment of how awful Goff was. McKnight is extremely boring and has annoying mannerisms but at least for me they don't result in many PTFB moments. Hell, it was last August when I completely stopped listening to the afternoon show because of Goff. I don't expect that happen to the midday show even though I not much of a fan of the show. And Mac is light years ahead of Goff in every aspect.
