Yeah, now that the days of Doug & OB are over, it would make more sense to use your main hosts for Bears postgame and then give those guys three-day weekends down the road.
Who is suggesting this besides yourself?
good dolphin has opined that the regular hosts should work Bears weekends as they did in the past.
When you think about it, it is putting your best hosts at the most impactful points of listenership. Let the bench work mid days in February.
Literally nobody is listening to the radio on weekends. Why put guys making 6 figures in a role where billing is nearly zero and listener count is a fraction of what it is during drive-time? Both Dan's ain't getting out of bed to broadcast on Sunday afternoons.
Not every weekend...Bears post or pre
That will likely never happen, but they should bring in their best people (or perceived best people) for big events more often. If the Cubs sign Harper, on a Saturday, get one of their regular hosts to talk about it. News networks do this all of the time, I don't think radio should be different, and this would really only happen on rare occasions. Now, if the Bears make the playoffs, etc., they should also have their big names doing shows that day because that is literally the story of the day, not 1-2 days later.
