Rod Allen, if I'm not mistaken, is one of the only black guys in the bigs with a full-time broadcasting job. There's Dave Sims with the M's on the pbp side, Deej, and I think that's about it. Ken Singleton still does a few Yankees games but he's not the main guy anymore.

I meant full-time as in with a team's TV or radio crew doing 150+ games.

Chris Singleton was unremarkable with the White Sox, then left for ESPN just as the Sox had been playing footsie with Steve Stone (at the time, Bernstein called Singleton's departure a deux ex machina), but he's turned out to be really good and has been there ever since. What a difference getting away from Ed Farmer makes.

I was very shocked to hear this.

Impemba is an excellent broadcaster and seemed like a nice guy. I doubt he was the instigator here. Sucks that he got suspended. Probably was suspended so that Allen can't play the race card.

UPDATE:

So it looks like Impemba did Red Sox baseball on radio in 2019.

They rated him high, but they didnt bring him back for 2020, due to too many people in the booth.

Rod Allen did 3 games for D-Backs radio last month vs the Cubs.

Otherwise, these guys are unemployed.

It's amazing how 1 dumb incident can ruin ur career. Sad.
