I wasn't aware of the number. Tulowitzki is a good player and if he keeps developing at a pace similar to his rookie year, this may end up looking like a steal. Of course, he could have Jerome Walton-esque numbers for a sophmore slump and never recover. Then he'd be doing the stealing. As is the way with most things, only time will tell.

Even if he slumps somewhat, $5 million per year seems like a bargain to me.

Last year he hit .294/24/99...even if he drops to say, .275/20/75, those would still be good for a shortstop. And his defense shouldn't drop off; he got completely robbed of the gold glove last year.

Out til after the All-Star break, and hitting below .200. So far, last year looks like a fluke.

Look at the minor league history schmitty. They would indicate this year is the fluke.

Soriano is hitting .154 so he also was a bad signing

Soriano was a bad signing. Hendry gave him alot more money than anyone else was offering. Hendry always bids against himself, he probably could of got away with offering him 100-120 million tops.

Maybe last year was his career year?
