Not running it on 3rd and 1 was a huge mistake. Even if the call was a pass, you have to throw a RB there in the backfield. Don’t go fucking shotgun. Maybe he just got caught up in the moment??

It’s his first game as a head coach. Gotta think he’s going to go over the film a hundred times and over analyze everything. Hopefully he learns and improves. I’ve been mostly impressed with him.

I was more concerned with Mitch air-mailing passes to wide open receivers: Robinson in the end zone in the 1st, Cohen in the flat in the 4th.

It’s no secret he missed on easy passes at North Carolina.

Mitch looked like he was thinking. That will change as the season goes on. His ability to escape pressure will be a huge benefit to the offense going forward.

Was it confirmed that Nagy called the ENTIRE game last year against the Titans? I thought he helped Reid draw up the first 15 plays before the game. Wonder if Nagy did that tonight. The opening drive was terrific.

When Reid’s guys are potential HCs and KC’s offense looks bad, Reid says he called the plays, when they look good, his says his guys were making the calls. He’s nice like that.

Like I said in the Nagy thread:

Start going for the fourth and shorts when you are up 20 to fucking 0. Let Mitch try shit and build confidence. If he fucks up so what? Would you rather fail big or die by a thousand cuts? It clearly showed that Mitch wanted to shit his pants having to get into field goal range with less than 2 minutes to go in Lambeau. Fuck you Nagy. No one won playing on cruise control.

You can see the Andy Reid incompetence rubbed off on Nagy.

And for fucks sake, that game is nothing like Willis Reed's comeback. That was game SEVEN of the NBA FINALS not some fucking week 1 NFL game. Shut the fuck up Al.

Fuck it I'm getting drunk and not showing up to work.

Absolutely. It sets a tone. Outside of that first drive this offense doesn't look NFL ready. That makes the preseason choices very suspect. But regardless of that, there are pass plays you can call that are largely undefendable if you are absolutely married to the pass with a young QB, which is certainly questionable itself when you have a RB1 who averages 5 yards and you need to grind a team down. It feels like the Bears never do the obvious, easy thing. Whether it is this, or drafting a highly thought of center prospect and moving him to guard and then dealing all preseason with snapping issues with a guard who you moved to center.

That last drive should have consisted of using crossing routes and slants, and Jordan Howard, to get the team into field goal range. A big body like Robinson should muscle out a defender every single time. We saw it with Brandon Marshall in those games where his name was being called every single pass play.

That was a cluster fuck even after Mathews bailed them out once. That's troubling.

Lot of over-analyzation. How 'bout Kyle Fuller catches a football and we all go to bed fat and happy.

Damn- that was a fun game. That was the first NFL game I watched in its entirety in over 5 years. Gotta be a rough day for you Bear fans but there are a lot of positives to take from that game. The Bears have definitely caught my attention.

Props to the Bears for keeping it competitive. They should be good against some of the lesser talented teams.

16 years ago another aaron did this to the bears with a 20-0 deficit. saints won 29-23 in chicago.

How come the Bears defense didn't make adjustments when they realized Rogers was going with the quick release? Lots of short passes that turned into big plays

the corners suck. the bears front 7 is the best in the league but if the ball is released in under 3 seconds there's not much they can do.

Fuller got his money and doesn't give a shit. Amukamara can't tackle. Callahan is a midget. Really they should have kept Deiondre Hall.

According to Biggs, the last time the Bears blew a 20-pt second half lead was the infamous Harbaugh/Ditka Monday Night game.

Howard at least needed to be on field so they had to respect the run.

He was outcoached. There were many times in that game when he had 3rd and short and abandoned the run. Way too gimmicky in my book. And the defense in the 4th quarter shit the bed. There are no excuses for allowing two long tds.

I can't stress how much the realization that Nagy inherited the Andy Reid late game meltdown gene from the coaching tree is killing me.

Yeah, wouldn't want our QB to actually think about the defense in front of him. Just throw it like Cutler!

When you are thinking you don't react quickly enough. As he learns he will read and react. That's what most experienced players do.

With a moment in the restroom a bit ago, it occurred to me there was a certain resemblance between it and Bishop's golf game towards the end of Caddyshack.

LOL. 23 pages devoted to a very predictable Bears-type loss.

This team is the same team that has sucked for the last what, 10 years?

Nagy isn't going to save this team nor will Khalil Mack.

You're better off jacking it for three hours each Sunday and derive some kind of pleasure than watching these dopes.

BTW, the Packers are nothing without Rodgers. When he retires there will be year upon year of losing.
