You always know that it is Bears season when these 4 individuals are singled out for blame.

1. Head Coach

2. Quarterback

3. GM

4. Offensive Coordinator.

If you want to know where the blame will be placed then you need not look any further than these four titles. Never fails.

Bears lost because the cornerback gave up a 75 yard pass play. If the CB doesn't get burned they win.

As always, LTG thinks offense is always free from criticism.

The Bears' first drive resulted in a touchdown, and that was the only touchdown from the offense. The Bears dominated TOP and yet had 80 less net yards. Their offense stalled during numerous drives and it was clear that play calling was an issue. This isn't hindsight either. Both Nas and I were commenting on play calling constantly during the drives...BEFORE the plays were actually (poorly) executed. The issues with the Bears offense were completely evident, and responsibility for the play calling and personnel is very clear.

You can't give up that play in that situation. A 10 yard curl or slant and he takes it to the house. Sure the offense could have made more plays but if the defense holds them to a field goal they win. You can't give up a touchdown.

My point is that too often the guys on the Bears defense have gotten a pass.

As I stated in another thread:
1st drive- 86 yards, 7 points
Rest of the game- 202 yards, 9 points

IMU is correct. On the road against your arch rival? The offense needed to do more.

Stick to the NBA. Your thoughts on the highest rated TV show of last week are quite stinky.

A lot has been made of the lack of conditioning and I generally agree. They came into this game unable to go a full 60 minutes.

People blame the 3rd preseason game, but that's not it. They just had a soft camp.

The defense gave up 17 points in 12 minutes. That shouldn't be overlooked because Mack looked like Lawrence Taylor in the first half.

Hard to blame a defense that scored a TD, and shut them out in the first half. Strange that this occurred to the last two teams Nagy was calling the plays for. The defense had some let downs, but the Packers would have been buried if the offense was at least above average. That said, I like their chances in the division.

The mere fact that you were recently quarantined speaks volumes about what stinks and what doesn't.

Apparently the Lions veterans were pissed that Patricia implemented Belichick's rigorous conditioning program...and the Lions still got smoked by 31 points by the Jets.

Under 5 yards per pass attempt for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky puts him in some inglorious company:

I have no doubt that if Cobb hadn't taken it to the house in one play, the Packers would have slowly driven down the field and scored anyway

Nope.

They lost for multiple reasons, not just one play.

The defense deserves some of the blame, but I’d put more if it on play calling rather than the players. When you have a 17 plus point lead after halftime and the other teams starting QB is limping around -you send the hounds and don’t let him get comfortable. If he burns you right away on 1 drive, you still have a lead and you make adjustments from there. You don’t let a future HoF QB just sit back there and kill you tho. Poor play calling imo.

This is just 1 thing tho. There are plenty other issues to go around that lead to the Bears blowing that lead.

How many times did stupid play calling lead to three and outs? The offense didn't do the defense any favors.

No they don't. They probably get lost on the way to Lambeau.

John Fox would have never had a 20-0 lead

Mack is the problem. Aaron Rogers should be in a hospital bed right now. Instead he led his team to victory in the 2nd half. Another bad trade.

Bump.

Not much has changed since this was originally posted. In 30+ years of Beardom this has always been the case.
