I know craps well. Best game in the house, but the money flies out of your wallet. The big casinos are at least $10 minimums, usually more.

I have taken to playing the pass line with double odds regardless of the point and then place betting $24 on 6&8. Traditionally I took come bets with double odds, but it gets expensive.

We get it. You love us. Stop being so needy.

Seriously tho, craps was the way to go unless I was feeling lazy, then it was Blackjack.

Put on your big boy pants and BET. FULL. ODDS.

If you just want to kill time in a casino, one can have a reasonable expectation of not moving much one way or the other dinking around with Pai Gow. If you want the table version of a slot machine (i.e., zero skill, zero effort), sit at a Caribbean Stud table. You push chips in, you pull chips out, and you always make your $1 paranoid bet.

Make sure the bartender explains the proper way to drink it.....that's all I'll say. It's not crazy/hokie, but it is a cool experience.
-definitely walk through the Atrium at Bellagio and all of Wynn. Those are beautiful spaces.

good advice! bar level 1.5 btw..

The crazy buffet prices and the lack of free stuff in general is a pretty big change from just 25 years ago even. Do many of you guys even get comps anymore. What level you generally gambling to do so?

Comps are pretty weak unless you are dropping a ton of money. At Mirage, the guys grind out poker for ten hours and get a free buffet or a credit for other restaurants.

The whole place went upscale. Even a lower end place like Treasure Island is pretty nice inside. That being said, Bally's, Harrah's, and Flamingo all need major updates (PH is a great model). They are nowhere near the Aria, Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, Cosmo or even Linq. I heard some older folks like the feel of the dated places, so maybe they'll hang on a while longer.

Pai Gow poker is the best drinking game. Folks sit for 12 hours and drink for free as they push hand after hand. If you get adventurous, try Pai Gow tiles at Bellagio. Best game in the house.

The buffets are part of a Vegas trip though. You kind of have to eat at one, especially if it's your first time out there. Bellagio, Wynn, and Caesar's are all great. Even the one in Bally's is pretty good. I usually go between breakfast and lunch, smaller crowd, and you get breakfast items and then they switch over.

Also, if you are with a group it works as a compromise because seafood guys can get seafood, steak guys can get steak, fat guys can eat fried shit, etc.

Not the full 18-20% though right? I'm getting my food(possibly drink). They are just cleaning up after me.

I don't feel bad about not tipping them and as I leave I tell them that not all jobs should pay well enough to feed, clothe, and shelter yourself and that if you don't like it then go to college and get a job that is worthy of that.

A good buffet waiter hustles as much or more than someone serving a sitdown dinner.

Definitely can see that if your waitperson is working hard and getting drinks from a bartender sharing tips etc. Especially if a fancier place. Someone simply getting you water as you gorge is not such a necessary person to tip.

It's really hard to buy this. First off, they don't even have to concern/bother themselves with anything Food related in terms of kitchen to table. They never have to deal with a "steak is under cooked" bullshit from customer, because they, themselves put it on the plate. So really all they are doing is hustling with the drinks(unless is self serve drinks too) or just making sure another clean plate is lined up for them.

I usually tip 10% for a buffet rounded up to the next $, minimum $2. That goes for both casino buffets and when I get a comped breakfast at a nicer hotel due to being a frequent guest or having a package rate.

I concur with Pai Gow with a progressive jackpot being the best drinking game with friends who just want to relax and visit. The house takes 5% on wins, but there are so many pushes that you can stretch things out. $10 Pai Gow means giving up $5 in commission for 10 wins, and that can easily take 45 minutes at a full table.

Wrong Dennis. The average fatass has to have his plates cleared four times as opposed to just once at a regular dinner.

The waiter isn't clearing the plate either. He's tasking that to the low wage Mexican.

Nobody is forcing them to work at a buffet. Everyone knows what they're signing up for as wait staff whether it's a buffet, breakfast joint, or fine dining.

That said - I would definitely over-tip if it's clear they are putting in extra effort rather than just going through the motions.

Nobody is forcing you to go out to eat at a restaurant. Go by a package of baloney and a loaf of bread if you want to be a cheap ass.

Servers live on their tips, it is just a fact at this point, so if you don’t want to tip, just understand that is an asshole move, buffet, diner, or fancy steakhouse.
