While i’m at it, last Saturday on the beach a guy had a massive cardiac event 30 yards from me. He didn’t make it, but me and some other dude gave him some professional caliber CPR for 7 mins till the first responders arrived. When they put him in the ambulance he was breathing and had a pulse after they shocked him. He survived long enough for his wife and son to say goodby at the hospital.

Whoa, I think you need to post more. You are like some kind of CFMB super hero. Seriously cool
About trying to help that man on the beach. I've never been in a situation like that. Impressive

My old lady picked up 8 volumes of a 10 volume "Cameo Edition" collection of the works of Edgar Allan Poe put out by Funk and Wagnalls at an estate sale for 8 bucks. While not especially rare, they are a first pressing from 1904. Each volume is going for about 30 or 40 bones each.

That's kinda cool actually. Well done, mate.

Finished commenting on two sections of papers. Typed out comments. 21,000 words (about 16,000 of them were original and not copy and pasted general comments). Five days of hell, but they can't complain now.

In my DraftKing Pool I had Larson, Truex, Johnson, Menard, Byron, and Hemric and things were looking great with under 10 laps to go. Then Larson, Menard, Byron, and Hemric were involved in the same wreck on a restart. Johnson and Truex then wrecked in the last couple turns as they were 1-2. I went from top 5 out of 39 to a 38th place. If you are going lose, lose spectacularly.

not really *my* brag per se, but over the weekend, I saw one of my cousins that I haven't seen since 2002 and we were talking about the playoffs, and he told me that when he lived in SoCal in the early aughts, he worked with a guy who would always be talking about his child prodigy baseball player son "Christian" - yeah, we got him a private hitting coach....yea, he's gonna be a big leaguer....yea....blah blah blah.

Non-story short, my cousin works(ed) with Christian Yelich's dad. And his dad was right.

I am the newest member of the LSC. By Chicago custom, I was appointed to complete the term of someone who retired mid term through a closed door process.

Any of you have any contracts on which you would like to bid?

It actually isn't that special except for the fact that I usually lose them because of 1 game. I went all heavy favorites and had 3 to 1 odds.

Texans
Chiefs
Rams
Bears
Steelers
Patriots

my boy was accepted into second city's teen ensemble

The site said it is for teens with acting or improv experience, which he really has neither (took a camp in grade school years ago). He just saw the audition, thought it might be fun and tried out. He didn't expect to make it.

They asked for head shots and things like that and I'm all like wtf? He is doing this for fun, not to get a role as Excited Kid #3 in a Mcdonald's commercial.

Anyway, I'm proud of him. He has been willing to stick his neck out there in the past with some things he has done but this seems like guillotine level neck sticking to me. This will be real shows with plenty of chance for negative reinforcement and being surrounded by kids with a much different agenda. Sharks swirling my baby. Not many teens would actively seek out the chance to get wrecked with almost no other benefit than a cool entry on a college resume. Better man than me.

Low bar...but congrats to the kid

I came up with a new reply when my kids say, "Shut up, Dad!" My bitch-ass starts rappin':

Shut up, shut down,
shut all around.

Those are the only lyrics I can think of, so I start beat-boxing afterwards. It's REALLY annoying and it gets them even angrier than they were, but eventually they start laughing.

Well done

No playoffs but we went undefeated in fall ball. 5-0.

Brought us to 33-7 on year. Most proud we got 40 games in.

I don't think I'd be a cool enough Dad to break out rap lyrics if one of my kids told me to "Shut up".

You're like Cosby.
