I have never gotten that impression. Nobody has ever tried "converting" me into a hockey fan the way soccer fans or pop culture obsessed NBA fans do. There are a lot of people who just refuse to accept that there are people who don't like the NBA. I think if you enjoy sports for the outcome and human emotional component of victory vs defeat the NBA is inferior to even the NCAA, but see how saying that goes over with NBA fans.

To be fair I care infinitely more about the NBA than NHL, but you have to understand the NBA at this time is a terrible league.

I had a fun time in the NFL thread yesterday. I am sure the Bears conversation tonight will be likewise entertaining.

I think guys like you hate it whenever the NBA is discussed. Should I bump all of the B&G threads which bashed them simply for daring to talk basketball? On a sports talkshow no less. What about all of the rather condescending talk on here about mythical SJW interest?

If you search the NBA threads you'd be hardpressed to find any which related to "cultural warriors" or "social justice". That's right wing babble. Its simply guys agreeing or disagreeing about sports.

You also don't here guys whining about why people are discussing other sports while they happen to be in season and their sport of choice is out of season.

I like the NBA, but it's decidedly my fourth favorite sport. While the league has an abundance of talent, I find the current game to be pretty boring. It is really akin to a three point contest. The lack of defense and try hard is a problem for me. I just find it tough to consume an entire game. It seems counter-intuitive to purposely take longer shots when the game really should be about creating easier shots. As such, I think the three point line just has done a disservice to the game.

If you like the current style, then have at it. The guys taking those shots have amazing talent.

The problem with the NBA to me is the regular season is nearly meaningless and the playoffs take forever. I know it wont happen, but cutting it to 4 teams make the playoffs from each conference would be my preference.

Agreed. It's a joke if half the teams in the league make the playoffs. Baseball was special because of how few teams made the playoffs but they seem determined to fuck that up.

Go NCAA style for the first 2 rounds and let every team in. That gives every team in the league something to play for and keeps fans interested.
