Well Stink and I are about to be bounced from the playoff pool as we both had San Jose winning it all.ooPS.

The Sharks were beaten up in the Calgary series and Dallas is just playing some great hockey and clicking on the power play. Turko has been brilliant and Modano has found the fountain of youth and it should be a 7 game series when they play the Red Wings.

Speaking of the Wings , I'm a little shocked how easily they have beaten up on the AVS. Detroit is so much faster than the Avs defense and Forseberg is no where near being in Playoff shape and has looked old.The AVs no longer have Patrick Roy and that's a difference maker in this series.

Pittsburgh is still the class in the East and I would love to see a Wings vs. Pens final. Dallas seems to have the hot goaltender but I think the Wings should prevail in 7 against the Stars.

Great playoffs so far.

I fixed this for you.

briere rocks. i didn't give the flyers a prayer against the canadiens, especially after the way they had to fight to win against the capitals...but they are looking very strong right now. MUCH better efforts.

they did their job at home; i think the habs take the next game but now i am a believer that the flyers can make it into the eastern conference finals...against the penguins. and that is gonna be some...shit.

stink we may need to schedule another NHL viewing party 8)

With the Avs likely out, and my pick, the Sharks teetering on the brink, I'm going to be rooting for the Flyers from here on out. They play a very physical brand of hockey with timely goal scoring, epitomized by Scott Hartnell and Mike Richards. It's very reminiscent of the Ducks' run last year, with the exception of the D for the Ducks being far superior. However, Philly needs to stay out of the box, especially if they face the Pens, which will make them pay dearly for their transgressions. Let's see how long Biron can stay hot.

Can't stand Detroit (sorry Ed). Can't stand Dalls (sorry CLH). The Penguins are the beneficiary of being a piss poor club for several years and ending up with the top pick on a couple of occassions (Crosby and Malkin fell into their lap). After the Blackhawks, my favorite team used to be the Flyers, so I'm rooting for Philly.

I grew up on Minnesota hockey and had/have a mancrush on Mike Modano. When Modano retires, I will move on from my love of Dallas. I plan on being at his hockey hall of fame induction, somehow.

Modano's exploits in slaying hoodrats are the stuff of legends.

We are going to OT! That Brendan Morrow hit was the greatest hit I have seen in several years.

The Turco and Nabakov saves in OT were as bad ass as they come.

Double Overtime on tap. With no disrespect intended to other sports, there is absolutely nothing as great as Playoff Overtime Hockey played at a maddening and frenetic pace!

CROSSBAR!

Please let this post also serve as official notification that I will now wholeheartedly support the Philadelphia Flyers in their epic quest for the Cup. This, of course, is subject to change if the League grants my angry E-Mail requests to overturn the unjust result of the Rangers' series based upon the scandalous favoritism exhibited by the referees in favor of the Penguins.

This Stars/Sharks game is quite possibly the most entertaining game I've seen in a LONG time. Both Turco and Nabokov are out of their minds.

How the Sharks did not score amazes me. Gotta give props to Turco.

Turco was lights out. Roenick had a heck of an overtime, I hate to see the guy lose cause I was rooting for him. Unfortunately, he loses to my boys. My only issue, no reason for those two OT penalty calls. Conference finals are going to be great, I cant wait. Oh well, to bed I go!

This is the second time in three years that Brian Campbell has been sitting in the penalty box while his team is eliminated in overtime by a power play goal.

One of the best games I have ever seen although I fell asleep watching the game at about 1:30 but woke up at 2;45 to see Morrows goal. The guy is a beast and is the MVP in the playoffs so far. That game was a 8 hour commercial of why NHL playoff hockey is the best sport going. Both teams left noting in the tank and the goaltending perfromace was one of the best I have ever seen.Nabby's save in the overtime period was the top 2 saves I have ever seen and Turko was not going to let anything past him.

Just a great game and the Wings will have their hands full.

Red Wings were clicking tonight and it's men among boys in this series. Dallas looks tired and the Wings D is just toying with them .Edso made a great point of how the Wings D makes you chase them for pucks and it just grinds you down.

Detroit can play a checking style , finesse or wide open at anytime during the game and tonight they had a puck on a string. They have punished Dallas with a ton of hits and with only Morrow and Madono putting any type of offense together this will be over in 4 straight games and it will be the Pens and Wings to fight for the Cup.

Should be a great Cup final with Crosby and Malkin vs. Zetterberg and Datsuyk. I give the Edge to the Wings in that series but it might go 5 or 6 games. I might make a trip to Hockey Town for a game . Anyone wants to go PM me and I'll work on getting tickets.

...and then there were two.

Wings vs. Penguins has got to be Bettman's wet dream. Game 1 viewing party at the Crow's nest on Saturday night.

Should be a hell of a series. Crow, game 2 or 5 ???? $150 bucks was the cheapest Cup ticket so far and game 2 is Monday and about a $100 flight on South West.

Pretty cool if the Wings win it all then I can say I skated with the Cup Champs. 8)

Can't do either Slappy, they're both on Mondays. It would be cool to go to a Cup finals game, but it'll be even better when they're here. Thanks for extending the offer, though.

I have not been to a Cup final since the Hawks lost to the Pens in 92'.A guy named Hasek was in net for the Hawks. I got to see the Cup skated around by #66 and #68 for the Pens that night and as sad as I was it was a thrill to see the Cup in person.

Crow you may be on to something about the Cup being here in a few years.I've seen a SuperBowl and a World Series Winner here but I would trade both to see a Cup Champion here in Chicago.

I think I'll try and get to game 2 this Monday. I got Cheli to agree to throw out the first pitch at a Sox game thru my buddy at the Sox and maybe he can bring the cup with him Crow.
