Here are the topics CFMB loves and will always love

CFMB itself
Bears
Cubs vs Sox
The Score and it's face (North at one time, Bernstein at another)

Cubs and Sox banter is ok. I never really read the Cubs section. Bears is meh as they haven't been good since crunk music was en vogue and very few are much interested in talking score unless it is to diss guys that are no longer with the station.

The Score stuff was HUGE when McNeil would post regularly as it gave some an opportunity to kiss his ass but once he stopped posting regularly most stopped commenting as much about the shows.

My essential point is that whatever it is that floats people's boat should be fine. Too many legislators and arbiters of what should and shouldn't be discussed. Everything isn't going to be for everyone and that should be ok. If something isn't your thing it isn't your thing but it doesn't or shouldn't require a referendum simply because you don't like it.

This really isn't directed at you per se however RPB. There are too many guys with inflated opinions of their own self worth and it has been that way for awhile. You post on a message board. Nothing more and nothing less. Anything you do outside of that which provides value for you I'm happy for you.

No one cares what you think particularly Pittmike. If the Marketplace of Ideas demonstrates that no one wants to discuss it then cool. It is not going to stop me from liking or watching the NBA.

It would be cool if the NBA folded.

Everything else is not close.

The Score and FOTS probably aren't on the short list any longer

Even you have to admit the NFL is far superior to the NBA right?

Take anything about the two, and when you compare, the NFL is far superior at it. Correct?

Yeah I was just about to say that the The Score is not really much of a hot topic as it once was. You can replace that with the DiCaro thread, like it or hate it.

NBA players command 1. greater salaries and 2. far exceed Football players in terms of endorsements. How would you counter that?

#1 is relative because there are 53 men an on NFL roster, and only twelve on an NBA roster.

#2, NBA players might have big deals with Nike or Adidas, but I think you severely underestimate the local commercials that NFL players do. For example, Robbie Gould still appears on my TV doing commercials for Eagle Ridge in Galena.

But regardless, need some citations on both of these.

Since I already know the answer it is up to you to disprove. I know which athletes top the list for endorsements year in and year so I don't have to cite anything.

As far as the 53 man roster thing goes that is an excuse more than it is an explanation. He asked for two things they are superior in and I provided it. Runs counter to the "No one cares about the NBA" narrative so it won't really be addressed.

I could just as easily say that NFL has higher ratings because they play the majority of their games during a day of the week when most of the country isn't working but I won't. I simply accept it as fact and move on.

Think the way Anthony Rizzo is over Jose Abreu for reference

 No LTG. That is not the way this works. When YOU present something as a fact, then the burden of proof is on you. There are two options here. Either you post proof, or deal with it when you are called out for being full of shit. The former you rarely- if ever- do. The latter you do not handle well.

How is it full of shit to correctly state that NBA players out earn NFL players in endorsements? Its not my fault that you are ignorant of it. Its yours. If you think that it is false then disprove it. I'm not challenging something that you posted. You are challenging what I am posting so disprove it by conducting a little research for a change. Things that are well known really don't need to be cited.

Top 25 via wealth, four are NBA guys, one NFL guy. I think it is well known that NBA endorsement deals are pretty hefty.

Not by Frank it isn't apparently and it isn't a comparison if you are simply talking endorsement deals.

Not by Frank it isn't apparently and it isn't a comparison if you are simply talking endorsement deals.

I only knew because D Rose had a crazy sick endorsement deal, and I was surprised he was getting paid that much. D Rose just didn't have the personality like Jordan, Peyton, or Tiger to get that kind of money.

"Rose’s agents were aggressively renegotiating his deal with Adidas, and during All-Star weekend Rose re-signed, consecrating one of the most lucrative endorsement contracts (reported to be worth $185 million over 14 years) in the history of sports."
