ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

Top notch! Top Notch!

Actually, Benson got off the boat assisted against his will with his eyes tearing up.

Fuckin' loser.

The Bears would be stupid to punish the kid like that in his first season. 250-300 is reasonable. AP and Wolfe can handle the rest.

I completely agree. Although the evidence isnt completely conclusive yet, I submit Larry Johnson as the prime example of this.

Peggy Kazinski, of channel 5, said that she talked to Benson.

Benson said he passed the sobriety test on the boat. He said he was polite. He said he didn't resist arrest until they started to pepper spay him. He was then kicked to the ground by his ankles.

Benson claims he wasn't operating the boat and that he was unfairly treated. He said he might sue.

Is Benson a liar?

Or is this the good ole boys in Austin, Texas picking on the black football player?

I could believe either story. Kudos to Peggy for getting a hold of Benson.

I predicted he would blame someone else this morning. Looks like he is still getting ankle tackled.

That's not really fair. Would you say the same thing if it was a person you didn't know? Police can be overzealous at times and it's more believable that he wasn't driving the boat than if he was caught drunk driving.

You may have predicted he would blame someone else this morning, but that doesn't mean he's not right.

No matter what though, this is another strike for Benson.

I don't necessarily believe his story with what I have seen of him in his time here, but I'm not going to hold it against him that he isn't taking responsibility for making a mistake. It's possible he didn't do anything wrong but I am not holding my breath.

I think both can be true. I think he could have been drunk and still been subjected to abusive, racist behavior by the Austin Police.

I guess the big question was if he was driving the boat. He says he wasn't. You're allowed to be drunk if you're not driving the boat.

They were not all his friends. One of the persons on the boat was his mother.

Cedric Benson was already on thin ice when the Bears drafted running back Matt Forte from Tulane with their 2nd round draft pick. His arrest on boating while intoxicated doesn't help matters, regardless of what he claims happened. He's also trying to come back from arguably a potential career-ending injury to a fractured left leg sustained last November that cut his season short. From the little I saw, even before Cedric got injured, he appeared awfully slow and tentative to begin with. Despite the millions it'll likely take to the team's salary cap given the fact he was taken #4 overall in the 2005 NFL Draft, GM Jerry Angelo needs to cut the losses with Benson and move on. Benson is the latest in a troubling long line of Bears' first round draft flops which includes Rashaan Salaam & Curtis Enis at a position that once featured the late, great Walter Payton...Running Back.

Was one of Thomas Jones friends the cop? He's out to get Benson you know. Tried to knock some sense into the stupid mother fucker a couple of years ago in the form of a fist. This when Thomas wasn't getting the veteran defensive players to hit him extra hard in training camp. The best part of Benson ran down his mama's leg 20 some odd years ago. He's living proof of anal conception.

Meanwhile he's made more money the past three years than all of the board members combined will in their lifetime.

So who's laughing now?

You make a good point Grid.

Yeah, there was always something evil and deceptive about the way Benson spoke.

I think he's guilty as hell. Don't get me wrong. I also think the police roughed him up without a good reason. Maybe because they know he is an ass hole. They know all of the Texas players in Austin. Ced still lives there I think. Maybe it was just pure racism as well.

Either way, the Bears need to cut him. I thought they might as well keep him. With this, plus his health issues, Angelo should cut him right now.

Everyone should keep this in mind, "Texas water cops aren't cops like we think of them." I use to party down in Texas and around the Univ of Texas in Austin. Remember, these folks hate us northerners and the Bears or any of our players. Their from Texas people.

Now, these "water cops" are usually young, extremely undertrained, overzealous cop wannbes. Keep this in mind. And another thing to keep in mind is a lot of the "caucasian" folk down in south Texas don't really like "african-americans". Big suprise huh?

Cedric said he did what the "water cops" wanted him to do and passed their little test. He didn't think they needed to drag him to land and he stood up for his rights. At least that is how I took it. If I was hanging out with friends on my boat and some young punk "water cop" tried to practice their field sobriety tests on me, I'd be pissed off too.

I'll give this one to Cedric knowing what things are like down in Austin. And, I highly doubt this will end his time in Chicago.
