Bill Barnwell eviscerates this guy today
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/2485 ... st-rookies
Quote:
Chris Conte might have been the victim of the most embarrassing play of the 2018 season when he was stiff-armed onto injured reserve by Vance McDonald in Week 3, but nobody has been on the receiving end of as many notable big plays as Barr over the first month of the campaign. Some aren't necessarily his fault; while he was the closest defender in coverage on three different touchdowns against the Rams, Barr can't reasonably be expected to carry Cooper Kupp up the sideline on a "leak concept." No linebacker in the league is going to cover Robert Woods up the seam, let alone Barr.

During Week 3, though, Barr was made to look foolish more than once by Bills quarterback Josh Allen in the latter's first NFL start. Barr was the defender Allen hurdled on the most spectacular run from that game, which will earn Barr poster status in Western New York for the foreseeable future. The former first-round pick is in a contract year and wasn't locked up to an extension over the offseason. Based on his early-season form, the Vikings won't be able to justify bringing Barr back on an eight-figure annual salary again in 2019.

I was calling this dude(and the Vikings D) a fraud last year. His claim to fame is hurting Rodgers, that's it.

I am on record many times on the board saying this guy is not an NFL-quality player. Benching him would improve the Vikings dramatically.

Danielle Hunter, despite having a girl's name, is a decent player.

And like a Kavanaugh/Squiik party in the 80's, he will have two guys on him. With Griffen out.

Yea without Griffen they are pretty fucked on defense. FF and I were talking about this yesterday, they have inexplicably rebuilt themselves as a team that will go as far as Cousins can take them. That is not a good thing to be.

They have also built a defense back to front instead of front to back. That has worked once in the history of the NFL, Seattle.

People forget that Seattle had worked to get Cliff Avril, Micheal Bennett and Bruce Irvin rushing the passer for them. For a long time KJ Wright and Bobby Wagner were ultra underrated players. Irvin and Avril got old/injured/expensive but I dont think it is an accident that the Seahawks have been willing to let the LOB fracture and go away while not letting those LB's walk.
