All the Nats got hurt, the Phils turned back into a pumpkin at the end of September, and apparently the Mets' only good players are their starting pitchers.

Oh well, at least the other 3 series should all be somewhat competitive. Yanks-Bosox will trade blowout wins until the Red Sox bullpen collapses to lose that series. Tribe-Astros should be the best series and the winner the favorite to win the World Series. Tho if the Brewers manager figures out how to handle his BP in the post-season, esp Hader, Brewers might steal it. If Andrew Miller could work 2 or 3 innings every 2nd or 3rd day in 2016, 24 year old Hader can handle more than an inning per appearance.

Really sad to see the Cubs not in these games. Feeling it now.

If the Cubs ever got their bats working they would have had a fair chance of beating any of these teams in the NL.

Rooting for the Rockies. But I know they probably won't get past the Brewers and for sure they won't beat the Dodgers 4/7. Would really suck to see the Dodgers go back to the WS.

AL - I don't care.

Kowality stream of Tribe-Astros,

Astros up 1-0 on a Bregman solo shot in the bottom of the 4th.

Smart move by Kluber to extend the inning by taking every hitter to 3-2 and giving up a bunch of base-runners . Verlander will be ice-cold by the time he gets back on the mound.

Bregman, Springer, Altuve have all gone deep on Kluber, who's now out of the game after 4.67 inn.

4-0 Astros, top of 6th.

Verlander comfortable out there today.

Image

Verlander's retired his change-up completely. Now uses his curve or a cutter (esp against lefties) when he needs to throw something other than a fastball for an out-pitch.

I had thought the Indians were a good value pick to win it all. Very under the radar and very good.

Hopefully Houston can sweep. Cleveland needs to be put back in their place.

And take Urban and The Ohio state with them

Counsell trying to manage his team into a loss. Brewers at corners, 1 out and he tries a double steal and gets the guy at 3rd thrown out.

Anderson pitching a gem for the Rockies. Brewers 1-4 hitters are 0-11 against him. Too bad he's down 0-1 in the game. Only 84 pitches through 6.

Eric Kratz, Rockies killer. Rockies looked like they gave up after Kratz 2 out bloop single drove in 2 runs and made it 4-0.

JD Martinez hits a 3 run homer to take a 3-0 lead in Boston.

You know, if the Brewers win 12 straight games, everyone gets free burgers from a distinctly Lynchian chain of coffee shops.

Hope Sale can keep it going. Only MLB playoff games I'll watch probably.

George Webb doing it again?

https://www.jsonline.com/story/news/loc ... 100710812/

I don't get the Rockies Michigan thing. Rockies and Dodgers are the only remaining playoff teams with no former Tigers. Not even cup of coffee guys like AJ Hinch's short stint catching for Detroit in their record-setting 2003 season.

Brewers and Red Sox have 4 former Tigers each. But no Tiger fan's going to cheer for the team that knocked them out of the 2013 playoffs and pretty much ended the Tigers run as a perennial contender. Plus Boston fans suck in general.

Most Tiger fans instantly became Astros fans when they traded Verlander to Houston last year; assume many of them still are. Granderson's probably the 2nd most popular former Tiger still in the league on another team.

Maybe it's a nod to Michigan's imminent vote to go from fairly liberal medical marijuana laws to full-on Colorado/Washington/Northern Mariana Islands style recreational weed next month.

Currently you walk into a Michigan med-weed dispensary without a medical card and they give you a referral flyer to a doctor down the street who will write you a scrip that day. Michigan had recreational weed all set to be on the ballot in 2016 and then pulled it at the last minute after it looked like Trump voters would swamp the Michigan polls and defeat it. So it got bumped to next month's mid-terms.

I always like seeing Chris Sale shit the bed in the playoffs.

Hopefully that trend continues.

I was so wrong on Verlander it's not even funny. Quintana will never match what he's doing for Houston.

JA Happ should just say he's hurt and then RPB will always say he was hurt and the Red Sox "missed" him

Manny went down and got that one. I’m not Sure how the Dodgers are going to let him get away this off season.

Stanton looked at 3 strikes and never lifted his bat off his shoulders.

Kimbrell strikes out the side after Judge got them to within 1.

if a team doesn't score any runs in a post-season series, were they even in the playoffs? Atlanta becomes the first team since the 1921 New York Baseball Giants to post back-to-back goose eggs to open a playoff series. Giants went on to score 13 runs in Game 3 of the 1921 World Series, eventually taking the best of 9 series from the upstart Yankees, 5 games to 3.
