Yesterday I heard Steve Stone on Mully & Hanley for a few minutes, it was right before noon or the start of Murphs show

He said as they were cutting away that he wanted to make a statement (no one asked him a question or anything, this was on his own), then said (paraphrasing) that those saying Jacque Jones sucked or was a loser (Murph) since he was demoted by the Tigers were engaging in revisionist history since Jones was a big part of the Cubs 2nd half last year

It's really funny to hear Stone take little jabs at Murph without mentioning him specifically

Did Murph do that since Jones was released by the Tigers?

Yes, the other day he kept interrupting Ofman's updates and saying "Jacque Jones still not picked up by another team" and basically saying he was right and Stone was wrong.

It's even funnier to hear Stone try and defend an indefensible position. He has cleared waivers, will be paid his contract by the Tigers and no one in MLB will pick him up for the price of a couple of bats. That's not revisionist, that's today's reality.

Murph has been wrong about Jones in the second half of 07, but Stoney by his comments is giving people a clear picture of why he has never had a position in a MLB front office as a talent evaluator. Keep working on the chemistry with Farmio, your future is where you are now.

That's what I was thinking Seacrest. Taking that time to respond seems very petty for a man who wants us to believe that he has many high level items that he is working on.

I do love him with the Sox.

The same items he has been working on since Harry was alive. I do hope something works out for him. Kenny gets too petty at times and i so wish he wouldn't, but that World Series Ring he wears gets a lot of lee-way from me at least.

Stone's response makes him appear just as petty as Murph.
Let Murph stew in his own bitterness.

Stone is a sarcastic, snide, petty bastard. Stone thinks the world of himself. Stone plays both sides of the fence in his baseball opinions. Then, he'll tell you he was right when one side turns out to be true. Nothing new there.

That being said, he's a good baseball broadcaster and I'm glad he's doing Sox games.

The funny thing is that Murphy sounds even more petty when paired with Stone. Mike sounded like a whimpering little boy during last year's "debate" about the use of the word "loser".

He sounded even more petty just a few minutes ago when someone nominated him for tool of the week for the Jones stuff

"everyone's eligible"

Just minutes ago, a caller nominated Murph for Tool of the Week for this whole Jacque Jones thing and Murph blew up.

"Last year on a remote, Stone pounded my ass for an hour and I had to sit there and take it!"

"What, you think is personal? You think Jacque Jones refused to sign an autograph for me or something when I was in the locker room? Caller: "No, Murph, you don't go in the locker room."

Caller: "I'm not going to hang up. You want me to hang up so you can say 'Let the record show...' " Murph: "Yeah, usually the callers hang up because they don't have the guts to face me. At least you do."
