I'm going to steal dolphin's bit...

- Roquan Smith is the real deal. That's a tough position to learn, so he still has a ton of upside.

- The secondary's tackling looked like shit a couple of times, but they are an aggressive, ball-hawking group. Eddie Jackson can fucking close. They just need to wrap up. They did a lot of good stuff today with zero pass rush.

- Gabriel = very good weapon to have; same with Cohen

- Mitch has had two straight games that were very productive. He also tends not to throw the game away in crunch time, as we had become accustomed to seeing with smokin' Jay.

- The outcome was going to be a coin flip today no matter what. It was just weird. It was an AFC opponent, it was hot, the backup QB played at the last minute, the offense took an entire half to get into a rhythm, and both teams had devastating fumbles multiple times that wouldn't normally occur. This is one you completely forget about tomorrow and start prepping for next week.

Eddie Jackson was terrible for 3 and a half quarters but I'll be damned if he didn't man up and start balling at the very end. Only him and Roquan were still ranging around.

The only real positive I have is that Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky followed up a great game with another overall great game. It even matters that he battled through some first half struggles to turn it on. Miami's secondary is loaded and he cut them to pieces. If the Bears had a cohesive offensive philosophy (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky would've won them that fucking game and we'd be anointing him.

He also didn't mentally quit after the first half.

Mitch coming through in the second half was a big thing.

Theres no quit in Mitch. He's not above getting rattled or even having a little bit of panic set in, but he holds the line no matter what. Its why I hate that Nagy just refused to let him make a play in the last two drives of this game.

I think he'll get to the point where he can audible out of plays. Just have to build a trust between he and Nagy.

That really was bizarre. There's no way Nagy can look back at that and think he played it correctly. At the very least, he should try to learn from it.

Brady would never have to this because Bill would fire any OC/playcaller stupid enough to make that decision (and Bill makes playcalls all the time), but any of the great QB's in the league would've just ignored Nagy's call. Rodgers does it all the time, I'm positive.

Mitch is still a pup but I hope one day he'll get there. These idiot coaches like Nagy with their gay-ass playsheets...its not up to the players to protect their ego's when they come up with these game-losing ideas of theirs.

I'm not putting someone who was crap for 3 and a half quarters in my list of encouraging things.

The D played poorly overall. There was very little pass rush which exposed the weaker parts of this D.

The O played poorly in the first half. There were some adjustments made and more pushing downfield. They need to learn from this going forward.

If we are going to integrate Howard into the game, we can't just run every time he is in the game. It is hurting his yards big time. I know Cohen is a better pass option, but you have to leave Howard in on some passing plays in order for the D not to put 8 men in the box every time they see him.

There were only two high snaps in shotgun this game... I guess that is an improvement?

The poor D today was on the front 5. They were giving up 6 yards a pop on the runs too. That's gonna cause a rookie middle linebacker and young secondary to start guessing and not reading their keys. You simply can't play solid D on the back end with the way the line played today, IMO. No excuses for the poor tackling, though.

It was good to see Mitch turn it on in the 2nd half. It was encouraging. I really love how Cohen looks outside of that fumble.

Honestly it’s hard to take away any positives from this game.. but, the Bears were down going into the half then came out and took the lead. So there’s that.

I’m not as worried about it tho as others seem to be. This is a young team with a young head coach and we’re going to get games like this where they just come up short. Part of this is the bye week too -the Bears had real momentum just killed by going into an early bye on a win streak. Is what it is, let’s see how they respond and play against the Patriots. If they win that game then I think we can all agree this team is still on a good trajectory.

Or cover. He was beaten on nearly every scoring play and his stumble in overtime was costly.

Roquan Smith is rapidly developing into an elite player.
