 Post subject: NO SUPER BOWL?
PostPosted: Wed Feb 01, 2006 5:31 pm
Was it 2 days ago when Mr. Sports told the rest of the crew that he passed on going to the Super Bowl?

Mr. Sports passed?

He said he did it so he can go to Hawaii? as he made fun of Detroit?

Glad to see who the show is about and what they use as a criteria, better vacation areas?

Sure, I would take a vacation in Maui over Detroit, but cosnidering I dont do a 4 hour Radio show on a sports station, nobody would care, plus I am sure North knew he would actually have to work if he went.

Once again, another fine job by Mitch and company allowing Mike North to decide where and when he is going to do what he wants.

We're not going anywhere for football...Super Bowl or Pro Bowl.

Super Bowl...it's kinda pointless since you really can't get any GOOD guests from 6-9am on our show. No one gets up early anymore unless forced to. And the whole Hawaii thing was a prank we played on Jen because she leaves for Italy and the winter olympics on Friday. She's a Hawaii fanatic, and we thought we would play a gag on her, she caught wind it was a joke, and never believed us anyway.

We are going to be going to Vegas in March for sure for the first round of the NCAA Tourney, and we are possibly going to New Orleans in April.

And all decisions on where we go are a crew decision, sure Mike has the #1 word of all of us, but if he's outvoted..............he's outvoted. I voted no for the Superbowl as did the rest of us.

Hope this clears up any confusion.....now I got to plan my trip to Schaumburg this coming weekend.

No guests in the morning? Didnt someone say here that he went to Boston or New York or Houston? Did he do shows from there? Would he be there if the Bears were there?

Hmmmmmmmm

He's right. Its not like its the Super Bowl or anything

Rock might be the biggest pu55y on the board after that post!

How can the show justify sending Jen to the Olympics and not going, as a crew, to the SuperBowl ? ? ?

Hey Rock. Your competition Mike and Mike are there from 5 to 9 and they got plenty of guests. The one thing I think you never realize is that most of us here are not stupid and don't by bullshit as easily as you buy Pappy's.

Its a good thing you didn't go because then we wouldn't have had to here Pappy's confusion over what "Impeachment" is.

If Mike wanted to go to Detroit, you would be holding the limo door, don't kid yourself. Or are you that delusional?

If you can't get any GOOD guests in the eastern time zone,(Detroit) How are you going to get any in Vegas?

If you are going to post here, at least try and make yourself look a tad more logical in your responses.

Rock I know why you voted no. Because of the early start time that would put more pressure on you and Buch to get guest. You would actually have to work...put time and effort in. Somehow the producer for Mike and Mike managed to get guest.

Well, since they're not going to the Super Bowl, they can have Bill Clinton on to talk about how he wasn't impeached. I'm sure that would be news to the former President.

Nice that a guy who is so full of himself, he decides he needs to branch out from sports and share his political expertise with all of us doesn't even know the definition of a basic political term--and one that was all over the news and thoroughly explained just a few years ago, at that. What an genius.

Rock tell Pappy that even Bill Clinton would say that he was "impeached" BECAUSE HE WAS. My God it is so pathetic to see a 55 year old man argue a point that is so totally and undeniably wrong.

Don't just have pappy pass this over. I hope you did the flash cards with him. He must come on the air and admit that he was educated on this and was wrong.

I can just see it coming. Rock telling us how hard he works. How he gets there at midnight. He often likes to do the "Im a hard working guy" routine. Spare us Rock. Never confuse activity for acomplishment. You have no idea how terrible the show sounds. That is pathetic.

This morning he blurted out, "I know da guy got impeached, I just don't tink he shoulda!" Nice try fuckwad. I had the distinct displeasure of hearing that clusterfuck of an exchange. You were adamant to the end (as usual) that he absolutely was not impeached. Now you're backpeddling like Champ Bailey, trying to save face. Don't bother. The cat's been long out of the bag. You're a fucking moron. If you tried listening for once, instead of just waiting for your turn to talk, you could avoid these things. Yea, that'll happen.

If a guy next to me at a bar was spouting misinformation about Clinton and impeachment, well, it's just an idiot at a bar, so who cares? When a big loudmouth know-it-all who commands $1.7 million a year to go on the airwaves in major-market morning drive because he wants to talk politics and societal issues doesn't even understand what impeachment is, then I have a problem with it. But, even worse than that is being proven wrong, like we all are at times in our lives, and not having the balls to just come clean and admit it.

(Another "highlight" for me of the impeachment discussion Wednesday was poor Fred trying to get a word in. It was easy to miss. Yes, ol' Fred, who takes a lot of crap from all of us, including me in my little skits, had it exactly right, but no one, least of all Mike, would even listen to him. Fred was trying to point out that Clinton was impeached and, quite correctly, that two presidents in our history have been impeached. He went unheard as North was yelling something moronic like, "He was brought to trial on impeachment charges, but he was not impeached!" No wonder Fred usually just cowers in the corner and says "yes" to Mikey. There's no point in doing otherwise.)

Rock is so stupid. There are a bunch of celebrities and athletes that assemble at the super bow. They are usually plugging something for a company. So to suggest that it will be tough to get guests is stupid. They are all roaming around Radio Row looking to be interviewed.

Rock stick to this board and we will teach you about radio.

Pappy did say today that "I know da guy was impeached". If so what an asshole. Everyone heard him argue that he wasn't and I'm sure he got flooded with emails. The guy can't even admit he was wrong.

While I don't necessarily agree with Rock's "Lack of guests" excuse, I'm glad they aren't there. I'm already sick & tired of the endless stream of interviews with sports figures who are obligated to stop by every radio booth they pass in order to spout a meaningless thought or two before promoting whatever sponsor they represent.

Yes I'm a sports fan...yes I recognize the relative importance of the "Big Game"...& yes I will watch it. However, I just don't need to hear any more useless minutiae or repetitive game dissection from so-called experts. Today, I did something I rarely do anymore: I flipped from WSCR to WDRV & I was rewarded with Brain Damage/Eclipse by Pink Floyd...much more entertaining than anything Joey Porter has to say.

The Mike North Show dissing on Guests that are there to sell, promote , give away products and themselves?

when I did listen to The Mike Show, that was the crux of the guestlist.

Rock, makes you sound like such an apologist. Personally could care less if Mike is at the Super Bowl, but I would think that the Headliner guy on a Sports Station in chicago might wanna go out to the Super Bowl? But thats just me
