Toews with another great pass to Gustafsson

1-1

Kunitz is an absolute waste on this team. Gives away the puck on a horrible attempted pass to Keith, leading to a Coyote goal to make it 3-1.

Course-correction game for both teams, you hate to see a regulation loss to one of the worst teams in the league, but at least Crawford is back.

Kunitz needs to stop being on this team.

At best he should be a healthy scratch for the majority of the season.

I miss #4. Kunitz blows and so does Saad. I would tell Corey not to go behind the net.

He does absolutely nothing. What a useless signing.

I did have to laugh when Foley/O were talking about Seabrook and how he was the team's go-to guy. I wish they could go to him to play 22 minutes a night, drive possession, and be a difference-maker on the team.

Kunitz has nothing left and I miss Hjalmarsson too. I'm really fearing that "Alexandre Fortin" is French for "Jack Skille." FINISH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Looking quite likely that I will be in attendance at Nationwide tomorrow night.

Hawks getting thumped in shot attempts 27-15, lucky that the Jackets are missing the net on a lot of them. Giving up a game's worth of breakaways and odd-man rushes in the first period alone. We need help back there.

WTF is Kunitz doing on the first PP unit, let alone any PP unit?

My thought as well.

Hey Foley- Kahun is #24 and plays with Toews and Debrincat. Fortin is #84 and is with Schmaltz and Kane.

So glad we got guys like Kunitz and Martinsen instead of Duclair. Heaven forbid someone talk about their ice time to the newspaper.

This game is 3-1 without Crawford.

Happy to see Fortin get his first, may he magically develop a pair of hands as the season goes on. 37/38 for Crawford, stole a 4-1 win as much as a 4-1 win can be stolen.

I never like to utter the words "start Cam Ward next game," but I'm apprehensive about giving Crawford a traveling back-to-back this soon in his return. The Bolts will make mincemeat of Ward but oh well.

First time at Nationwide for me. Nice arena, and easy in/easy out, save for the 15-minute wait in the main parking garage. Locals were cool, with some good-natured razzing. I would say a good 30% or more of the crowd were Hawks fans. I got tickets off SeatGeek last night ten rows up from the ice between the goal and the corner that would have cost 3x more at the UC (well, maybe 2-3 seasons ago...).

Also, not only have the locals conceded that Panarin’s a goner, and probably before the trade deadline, but it looks like Bobrovsky is gonna follow him out of town. Welcome back to mediocrity, Jackets.

I know Panarin is gone, but they have to hang on to him if they're even on the bubble by January or else that's one hell of a white flag trade. What could you even get for him as a pure definitely-not-coming-back rental who doesn't want to be anywhere but New York, L.A., or Miami? Maybe one 1st?

EDIT: I suppose you could trade him to the Kings and take them for everything you can, but they tried that with Jeff Carter and whoops

Even if he isn't scoring, still rather see him out creating chances and disrupting things with his speed than slow-ass Kunitz who brings nothing to this team

When you consider that in the last couple years upcoming UFAs such as Kevin Shattenkirk, Rick Nash, Andrew Ladd, Martin Hanzal, and Evander Kane all returned 1st round picks and more, the price for Panarin who is better than each of those players will easily be more than a 1st round pick.

If he is willing to sign an extension, I would give up that 1st.

Sure but what about teams that cannot resign him? Lesser players that were pure rentals have brought back more than a 1st in the past. How would Panarin look on Nashville? Put him on their 2nd line for the playoff run. You don't think Nashville would give up a 1st and B-level prospect for him?

No question. I see where the Blackhawks are trying to follow the blueprint of the '16 and '17 Penguins: your established superstar players surrounded by speedy youth. That's what Fortin, Schmaltz, Kahun, and eventually Sikura seem intended to be. The problem is that they're following the blueprint too closely and using the actual Chris Kunitz.
