Even if he isn't scoring, still rather see him out creating chances and disrupting things with his speed than slow-ass Kunitz who brings nothing to this team

No question. I see where the Blackhawks are trying to follow the blueprint of the '16 and '17 Penguins: your established superstar players surrounded by speedy youth. That's what Fortin, Schmaltz, Kahun, and eventually Sikura seem intended to be. The problem is that they're following the blueprint too closely and using the actual Chris Kunitz.

And as far as I know, Kunitz isn't much of a physical or defensive presence right? If he was either, he would be an ok 4th line forward

Kunitz used to protect Crosby. Not sure now as he has aged.

By point shares, Kunitz appears to be the worst player on the Hawks: his presence actively takes away from the team. I would have thought Manning, but he does have that goal, and I think the formula punishes bad forwards more than bad defensemen. Desjardins at one point had the lowest point share in the league because he couldn't even get an assist.

Time to give him the Rosival treatment- healthy scratch him until an injury occurs

Breakaway goals for Kucheovv and Fortin early on. Fortin came in so fast on his that Domingue didn't even have time to play the Y and challenge him. Can't begrudge Ward the Kucherov goal, he's gonna do that to everyone.

Can't argue with that.

Didn't think Louis Domingue would be the hero of this game so far. Strong period from the Hawks, might have another 7-6 game on our hands.

The Hawks might already be in an non-competitive position without the efforts of Cam Ward.

I'll take 'shit I wouldn't have said three hours ago' for $600, Alex ...

Outside of the Final, the Hawks are 2-10 against the Lightning since 2010-11, gonna be 2-11. It's not @Washington/@Philly bad but it's right up there.

Did they just show the Blackhawks were outshot 34-6 in the second period?

Love the unsportsmanlike conduct call. I was wondering if they'd call that. Act with some class Dominque.

Fucking Konroyd had Cam Ward as his top Blackhawk tonight. I know he faced 55 shots, but he still gave up 5 goals! Konroyd really sucks.

Cam Ward makes 50 saves and still has a .909 on the night. Of course.

29-10 Hawks in shot attempts, Gibson is 15/16 though twenty. These Ducks blow. They're slow and take too many penalties. If not for Gibson they'd be in the Hughes sweepstakes.

EDIT: hm, I guess Forsberg was waived and cleared. Hope not to see him up here again.

Saad must have gotten into one of Crawford's old bags of instant energy. I know the 2nd goal was EN but he actually looked like he gave a shit tonight.

Saad had a great game for sure. I'm glad he got the empty-netter because a little stat-padding could go a long way in boosting his confidence.

Kruger is making himself too familiar with the penalty box for a guy who's supposed to be our dedicated penalty killer. He's generally been on a 36-PIM pace with the Hawks, or roughly one minor every five games, and YES IT'S EARLY but 10 in 9 is not that. I found it strange that the refs called a tight game most of the way, made up for it by swallowing the whistles for ~17 minutes of the third (and come on: when a Randy Carlyle team is on the ice, there are always infractions to call, it's just a matter of whether you want to), and then made the call on Kruger to set up the Anaheim 6-on-4 in a one-goal game. But whatever, Hawks got out of it.

Between New York, St. Louis, Edmonton, and Vancouver, there should be at least five points to finish out the month.

Adam McQuaid knocks Skjei over like the dumb clod he is, falls on his own ass, and gives Toews all the time and space in the world to score.

This isn't a goal...the play is dead not when you hear the whistle but when the ref intended it, a second or 2 before?
