He went to the locker room at halftime having completed 14 of 24 pass attempts for 164 yards and two interceptions. You gotta watch the games my friend.

And Mitch was 8/20 for 96 yards in the first half. Three of those completions and 42 of those yards came on the meaningless drive before halftime. Maybe we can pick different arbitrary period to make him compare favorably!

Anyone listing the offense in general and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky in particular as a top 2 reason they lost is insane.

He wasn't great and he didn't win the game, but he was fine.

What does this mean? I never pretended (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky didn't have accuracy issues yesterday. How many other players stats do you say are meaningless? If he had thrown an interception on the hailmary I doubt you would be so forgiving.

It's the same thing as Watson last year. They will just tell us whatever hot hand around the league currently is the guy Pace should have gotten and God help us if (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is ever that hot hand.

Just looking at the first half seems rather arbitrary unless you're trying to a draw some kind of false equivalence between (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Mahomes' struggles against the Patriots (and trying to gloss over (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's own bad first half). I called the drive meaningless because it was essentially garbage time stat padding against a prevent defense that had no chance at resulting in points, especially the Cohen completion as time expired.

An accurate assessment. Unfortunately you’re talking about the #2 pick in the draft and franchise QB for the foreseeable future. He’s had 1 great game, 1 good and 4 not so good.

Huh? I said Mahomes struggled during the Patriots game. Anyone watching it saw that. Zip refused to acknowledge it so I posted his first half stats. The point being that the Patriots have a way of making even a potential MVP look bad.

I took Zip's point with the stats to be the two young quarterbacks did not struggle the same way or to nearly the same extent, a position I completely agree with.

He has stuff to work on for sure. But the hand-wringing from some corners of Bears fandom is nauseating.

Rodgers struggled in the 1st half against the Bears. The entirety of the game is what matters.

Not sure you wanna go with wins and losses being the only evaluator in how a QB performed.

Nah not really. He had a very up and down game his accuracy continues to be a major issue. I also don't consider it bashing to acknowledge that.

Pretending he's playing at the level of Mahomes is just fantasy land and ultimately not really worth responding to.

Everyone has pointed out his accuracy issues during and after the game.

Not even (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's mother has said that he's playing at the level of Mahomes. This post makes about as much sense as people saying that the Bears lost yesterday because of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

I know. I do not understand the handwringing. To say that he has had 4 bad games is total crap. I guess these critics expected basically an all-pro player in his 2nd year. After all, the Bears have had an illustrious legacy of starting quarterbacks in their history, huh?

As a person who has been a big time cynic on at least the 25 years of Bear's football and especially quarterbacking and coaching, I have to say that for the first time in years I am encouraged by what I see. I see, in (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky a talented young player and one who from what I have seen has the great support of his teammates. Did you see the look on their faces when he made his touchdown run yesterday? I think that these guys love (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. They like his fire and his talent and want to play with him. That is how I read the situation, anyway. It means a lot to a team to really love their leader.

I give a shit what Mahomes does in a game. Same thing with Watson who was walking on water last year and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was getting pummeled by the fans. So all of you supposed "Bears fans" need to wake up and try like hell to be a bit fair with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, Nagy, and this team.

Two separate things going on here.

1) The Bears lost this game because of things other than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

2) (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky needs to improve as a QB.

Both are 100% true. Personally, I find it annoying when people are satisfied with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's game. It was sub par. That being said, I don't think this game was won or lost because of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's play. But to give him a free pass as if there is nothing that could be improved (people saying "(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was fine") is ridiculous. I don't care about the stats either. I care about the play. He still overthrows everyone and occasionally underthrows guys. He has to get better accuracy wise. This is probably #4 or #5 reason why they lost the game, but we can't pretend that it isn't an issue.

No problem with this except I wouldn't call his performance subpar.
